During a gathering with my friends in April this year, the top official from a labor camp head
was present. A friend asked him, "I heard the labor camp was very tough on Falun Gong
practitioners and often applied torture on them. Is this true?"
He was a bit embarrassed and replied, "We have orders from above to punish those who do not
give up Falun Gong. We also ask drug addicts or prostitutes to torture Falun Gong practitioners. If
they do well, then they can get reduction in their sentences; otherwise, their terms may be
extended. This way, those criminals have a great incentive to persecute Falun Gong."
Hearing this, I started to clarify the truth to him, telling him that good will be rewarded with
good, and evil with evil. He said, "In fact, I don't want to be like that. However, if I refuse
to follow the orders, I would be laid off." After a while, he told me that the authorities have
budgeted an additional 180,000 Yuan to his labor camp for further persecuting Falun Gong.
