One of the victims was a male Falun Dafa practitioner in his 30s who worked at the Shanxi Yangquan Mineral Bureau's Fifth Mine. His name is unknown, but we know that his wife, Mrs. Zhang Wenli was also jailed at one time in the Xindian Labor Camp for not giving up her belief in Dafa. This male practitioner was illegally sentenced to forced labor in 2002 and sent to the Xindian Labor Camp in Taiyuan City. After this year's Spring Festival, he went on a hunger strike for over 40 days to protest the unjust persecution. He was savagely force-fed, which led to his death.
