My Understanding of Righteous Belief

Righteous belief is formed when cultivators have a firm belief in the Buddha Fa (or in the Tao) and in their masters. For Falun Dafa practitioners, righteous belief is our firm belief in Dafa and Teacher. We need to be determined to follow Dafa under any circumstances. Only by doing so can we make improvements until we reach Consummation.

Cultivators' righteous belief is fundamentally different from everyday people's beliefs. Cultivators' righteous belief comes from our understanding of the Fa and from the part of ourselves that has obtained the Fa. It is a manifestation of a higher state of being. Cultivators' righteous belief will not be confused by superficial things. In order to have righteous thoughts and righteous actions, we need to get rid of the attachment of worrying about whether we can or cannot see. Only by maintaining righteous belief can we achieve righteous thoughts and righteous actions, and keep striving forward until we reach Consummation. Everyday people's beliefs are usually based on superficial manifestations. Everyday people are in the state of "Seeing is believing; no seeing, no believing" (From "Why One Cannot See" in Essentials for Further Advancement). Actually, this state reveals a poor enlightenment quality, since, "how could they see, with their original nature obscured?" (From "Why One Cannot See" in Essentials for Further Advancement).

Since July 20, 1999, the old forces have been using low-level evil and rotten spirits, the head of the evil in this dimension, and the media to fabricate tons of lies to viciously attack the Fa and Teacher. They have tried to fundamentally shake Dafa practitioners' righteous belief in the Fa and Teacher. Yet, with our understanding of the Fa and the firm foundation laid during our individual cultivation, Dafa practitioners continue to firmly believe in the Fa and Teacher. We see through the evil lies and Jiang's political faction's hideous motives. No matter how hard they may try, we remain determined to assist Teacher with rectifying the Fa and we continue to strive forward. This shows Dafa practitioners' righteous belief.

How do we achieve real righteous belief? We cannot acquire it by just saying so. We need to truly follow what Teacher has told us to do. Teacher has told us that we need to continue to do well in those three things he has asked us to do. So, as Dafa practitioners, each of us needs to truly listen to Teacher in order to do a better job in studying the Fa, in sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil, and in clarifying the truth to save sentient beings. Only then will we be able to speed up the transformation of our bodies and realize the ultimate Consummation.
