(Clearwisdom.net July 26, 2003) New Jersey Minghui school hosted a summer camp from July 13
to July 17. 15 Students from the Greater New York and New Jersey areas attended. Their ages ranged
from 5 to 13 years old. The students speak different languages and know Dafa to different degrees,
which increased the difficulty of running the camp. However, it turned out to be very successful.
Some parents did not hesitate to take the two-hour drive to have their children attend the
activities.
During the summer camp, Dafa practitioners and children studied Falun Gong books and practiced
Falun Gong exercises together. They encouraged every student to become a better person by
considering others first in every situation by following the principles of "Truthfulness,
Compassion, Tolerance". Though the camp lasted for only a few days, it changed the children a
lot by helping those who didn't get up until noon every day to have a regular schedule and go to bed
at regular hours and wake up on time. The most important change was that they were able to look
inside themselves first when facing conflicts. The children showed changes daily. By the end of this
camp, they were reluctant to leave.
Ms. Jing, the coordinator of this camp said that this kind of meaningful activity would continue
in the future if conditions permit.
