The Persecution of Dafa Practitioner Ms. Su Kezhen from Jinmen City, Hubei Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On May 24, 2003, Dafa Practitioner Ms. Su Kezhen from Jinmen City, Hubei Province was tricked into going to the local police station by the "610 Office"* and national security personnel. They attempted to force a confession from her regarding Dafa practitioners distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. Su Kezhen firmly resisted. As a result, she was sent to Jinmen City No.1 Detention Center, where she staged a hunger strike to resist the persecution. On the fifth day of her hunger strike, six or seven people including both men and women came to force-feed her. They pried her mouth open, and one of her lower incisors was pried off. Soon after, four or five people forcefully pressed her onto the floor, and some of them pressed down on her lower abdomen and private parts with their knees. This resulted in her lower abdomen becoming swollen and she had blood in her urine for a long time. After the sixth day of her hunger strike, she showed symptoms of seriously high blood pressure and lost consciousness. The police sent her to Jinmen City No. 2 People's Hospital.

During this period, the "610 Office" found nine collaborators* including Li Qingxia, Liu Cuilan and others, as well as three personnel from the "610 Office," to take turns mentally torturing her. At the time when she was unconscious, the collaborators forcefully pressed her hand to get her to sign the so-called "Guarantee Statement"* which was already prepared.

Now Su Kezhen has been bailed out and is staying at home. About 6,000 to 7,000 Yuan* was spent on the medical treatment during her stay in the hospital. The authorities requested her family members pay the medical cost but they firmly refused.

* "610 Office" - an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems

* collaborators - former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture

* "Guarantee Statement" - A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Gong practitioners

* Yuan - Chinese currency, 500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China
