Been on a Hunger Strike for Almost A Month at the Dabei Jail Ms. Zhang Guangyuan is one of the 19 Dafa practitioners who escaped from the
Anshan Detention Center. In early 2002, she was abducted once again from a Dafa
material center and sentenced to 9 years in jail. She was detained at the Dabei
Jail in Shenyang City. To protest the illegal detainment, she has been on a
hunger strike for about a month and her life is in danger. [Beijing] Violence Against Dafa Practitioners In the Basement of the
Beijing Public Security Hospital Since 2002, police officers in Beijing have rounded up Dafa practitioners who
did not reveal their names and addresses and/or went on hunger strikes during
previous detentions. The practitioners are kept in the basement of the Beijing
Public Security Hospital. While there, Dafa practitioners are stripped by police
officers and bound to beds, and then force-fed or injected with fluids by
criminals. Some police officers filled plastic baskets with irritating
chemicals, attach the baskets to Dafa practitioners heads, and then hit the
baskets with wooden sticks to cause hidden injuries to Dafa practitioners'
brains. 3. [Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province] The Wafangdian Jail Is Organizing a
Brainwashing Center to "Reform" the Dafa Practitioners Detained There 4. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Zhu Yangchun, a Retiree at the Yujiatou Campus of
the Wuhan Polytechnic University Is Detained Once Again On June 27, 2003 sometime between 12:00 am and 2:00 pm, Dafa practitioner Zhu
Chunyang, who is over 60 year old, was arrested by police officers from her
home. It was the sixth time Ms. Zhu was illegally arrested. People involved in
the arrest included two police officers from the Wuhan City Public Security
Bureau, officers from the Yangyuan Police Station, and Security Guards from the
Yujiatou campus. The officers called several of Zhu's daughters to the scene,
searched Zhu's home, and took Zhu away after alleging that she was still

Letters Is Posted On a Intersection Bridge in a City On July 16, 2003, the words "Please Remember that Falun Dafa Is Good!
International Trial of Jiang Zemin" in huge letters was posted on a intersection
bridge in a city in Liaoning. The banner was very eye catching. Passersby looked
up to read it. 6. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Dafa Practitioner Jiao Zhihua Openly
Walks Out of the Detention Center In the evening on June 30, Jiao Zhihua was arrested from home by police
officers of the Chaoyang County and held at the County Detention Center. When
Jiao went on a hunger strike to protest, he/she was struck with electric batons
and force-fed. Jiao's hands and feet were shackled with fetters weighing 19 kg.
With a firm belief in Dafa, Jiao did not give up. Ten days after the arrest,
Jiao openly walked out of the detention center. On July 8, 2003, Dafa practitioner Ms. Feng Li was arrested from her home by
police officers from the Chaoyang County. Police officers extorted 2000 Yuan [Chinese
currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500
Yuan] from her family before releasing her. 7. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Taihe District Dafa Practitioner He Tao
Is Illegally Sentenced Mr. He Tao was arrested from his home by police officers. He was sentenced to
prison and sent to the Dabei Jail. 8. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] A Dafa Practitioner That Lives On
Xiangbin Road Is Monitored and Tailed by Agents in Recent Days 9. [Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp, Sichuan Province] New Conspiracies to Deceive
Dafa Practitioners to Give Up the Practice Recently, Group head Li of the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp searched for
former Dafa practitioners who had given up their practice under pressure to come
back to the camp so they could become collaborators and persuade detained Dafa
practitioners to give up the practice. The "610 office" [a bureau
specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has
absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over
the political and judiciary branches] had told the detained practitioners
that they could go back to their original work units to work or the "610 office"
would find them jobs if they gave up the practice. But the truth is that no jobs
were available for them. So Li could not recruit enough former practitioners to
fill his attempts. Only a few people that had some other source income were
taken to the labour camp to be used to deceive detained Dafa practitioners. 10. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Li Zhumin Is
Fined Many Times and Forced to Leave His Home Mr. Li Zhumin is 45 years old and lives in the Hengshan area in the downtown
District. One night in February 2002, while posting "Falun Dafa is good"
slogans, he was arrested by the Hengshan Police and then detained at the City
Detention Center for two months. Police threatened to sentence him to two and a
half years in jail. His family members spent 18,000 Yuan and appealed to all
their connections to help get Li released. After Li was released, officers from
the Xining Police Station searched his home and found Teacher's Articles. Li was
arrested and taken to the Xining Police station. He was tortured that night. His
liver was severely damaged by the torture and he was left in a critical
situation. Only then was he sent to the Suining Hospital for emergency
treatment. The second day, police asked his family to pay 2000 Yuan to pick up
him. After his injuries were healed, police went to his home to arrest him. Li
had to leave his home to avoid further persecution.
