A Few Thoughts on Bringing Jiang to Justice Through the Lawsuit or Mock Public Trial

(Clearwisdom.net) The lawsuit brought against Jiang Zemin in Chicago is still a pending matter, and any day now the judge could render his decision on whether or not to grant immunity to Jiang. The lawsuit could also continue, giving us more time to clarify the truth comprehensively and thereby save more people of the world. In reality, the outcome is up to us to a large degree, though everyday people's views on politics and self-interest will play a part as well. Meanwhile, there has been more coverage of news about the lawsuit brought against Jiang on the Internet. Here, I would like to share some thoughts. During Fa-rectification cultivation, whether it's regarding the lawsuit Jiang or the public mock trial of Jiang played by some practitioners, having the right starting point is of the utmost importance.

Teacher said,

"Compassion is a product of cultivation, and it's not something that's acted out; it comes from the bottom of the heart, and it's not something done to show to other people. It's something that exists eternally, and it doesn't change with the passage of time or changes in circumstances."

I realized that this applies to all of us Dafa disciples, and we all need to act accordingly.

Some practitioners who have a relatively strong mentality of doing things often say, "We've understood the Fa principles a long time ago, what we need is more action." It's true, putting it into action is very important. If there are only righteous thoughts but no righteous action, then that means the righteous thoughts aren't strong enough, and good results won't appear on their own. However, the universal principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" are what righteous thoughts and righteous actions are measured by, not some standard that we establish in our own minds. So if we can all calmly, objectively and rationally take a hard look at our own fundamental thoughts and perspectives each time a new situation arises, it will be most beneficial.

Take this lawsuit, for example. What is it fundamentally? Is it to open up a new stage for comprehensively clarifying the truth and exposing the head of the evil, Jiang Zemin? Is it to compassionately save beings, or is it to pursue some surface result? Is it a process to clear away the evil, clarify the truth and save sentient beings, or is it to settle a personal grievance through judging and punishing that weak, leftover evil and doing it with vicious thoughts in mind? Is it for getting some personal achievements and accolades, or is it truly selflessly saving those people of the world who have not yet been saved? All of those questions pertain to some fundamental issues. Sometimes we may not be aware of them ourselves, but onlookers will be able to see very clearly. Some of our disciples outside of China, when they talk or write articles, have placed a big emphasis on the "mock public trial activities", but as for what facts where shared and explained during the mock public trials which were performed by some practitioners, there was virtually no explanation of the content. Regarding the lawsuit, some Mainland practitioners are watching idly as precious time goes by, always just wondering, "Has the decision been made yet?" Those are some of the issues that we are facing. We have nowhere to hide our perspectives and thoughts that are deep down in hour hearts. The old forces' behind-the-scenes helpers will see these things very clearly, and they will attempt to take advantage of them to obstruct our saving people of the world. So in order to be responsible to the sentient beings, it's crucial for us as Dafa disciples to constantly rectify our perspectives and motives, and purify ourselves.

Whether it's the lawsuit or mock public trials, all of these are concrete actions in society and therefore should follow the form of everyday society. But from the perspective of Fa-rectification cultivation, the form may only just be a medium for communication. The process is always the most important, because during the process we can do what we should--clarifying the truth, purging the evil, and saving sentient beings. The result should be the natural manifestation of our process--if we can truly clarify the truth well, the evil will be purged in great quantities and people's minds will be rectified. The outcome will then be the best. If we cannot reach this standard, then it will only be a reflection of our being unable to detect and set right our loopholes. What we have experienced in Geneva in the past few years--a lot of bustle but with less than favorable results--is a clear lesson that we should learn from. As Teacher has clearly pointed out, we have no choice but to learn deeply from our lessons and improve.

Specifically talking about mock public trials, I personally feel that the mock public trials themselves are not the most important. Using the form of a mock public trial to completely expose Jiang Zemin's crimes and comprehensively talk about the facts of the persecution are the key points. The true grand public trial by the conscience of all people is in the not-so-distant future, and it will happen in society. It's not something that we can substitute for, because the main people involved and results will be different. But for us as Dafa disciples, using methods to clarify the truth to save the world's people is not something that everyday people can do in our place. It's something very time-sensitive, something that we need to do well before the arrival of the grand current of Fa-rectification. Once the historic opportunity passes, the losses can never be made up, and whether or not our cultivation is solid will be seen even more clearly in this situation of being short on time.
