Central News Agency: Hong Kong Organizations Appeal to Wen Jiabao and Express Discontent with Article 23


(Clearwisdom.net) Central News Agency June 29th report: during a Hong Kong visit by Wen Jiabao, China's Prime Minister, "April 5 Action," an organization in Hong Kong, protested and expressed their discontent at the proposed implementation of Article 23 of the Basic Law.

Noon on June 29 marked the beginning of Wen Jiabao's three-day visit in Hong Kong. In the afternoon, he attended the signing ceremony for "Tighter Business Relations and Arrangements Between Mainland China and Hong Kong" held at Ritual Guest Hall. Over a dozen members of the "April 5 Action" paraded toward the Ritual Guest Hall from the Headquarters of Banking Corp. Ltd. at Central, and they hoped to meet with Wen Jiabao in addition to deliver a letter from the public to him.

The protesters said they request the Central Party Committee to reevaluate the "June 4th Incident" and they oppose the Hong Kong government's implementation of Article 23. However, large groups of police guarded the Ritual Guest Hall and they could not get close to Wen Jiabao. [...]
