Hundreds of Massachusetts Government Officials Attend New England Falun Dafa Association's "Thank You" Party (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On Monday, June 30, 2003, "Falun Dafa New England Association" held a "thank you" party in the Massachusetts State Capitol building to show appreciation to the people, especially the government officials, who supported Falun Dafa over the past four years.

Falun Dafa practitioners from the New England area, from Maine to Connecticut, brought performances designed and performed by practitioners such as the Lion Dance, the Heavenly-Beauty Dance, and Chinese and English songs to the luncheon party. The Chinese and western-style foods and desserts won praises from the guests. Over three hundred government officials and their assistants attended the party. Some officials brought all of their office staff with them. So many people moving about the hall made it an unprecedented, spectacular event.

During the luncheon party, the New England Falun Dafa Association awarded over thirty State Representatives with a "Certificate of Appreciation." These representatives have greatly supported Falun Dafa in the past four years, proclaimed the goodness of Falun Dafa many times, and wrote letters to Congress or Senators on behalf of the persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. Many reporters were also awarded a "Certificate of Appreciation" for their fair and true reports about Falun Gong practitioners' activities.

The practitioners' peaceful and serene demeanor impressed the representatives and their assistants. They talked with the practitioners in small groups and greeted one another other. One representative said that the practitioners were like the sunlight--they brightened the State Capitol building. They confirmed that supporting human rights and freedom of belief is their responsibility.

Mr. Liu Zhigong, Director of Taipei Economy and Culture Department, came to the luncheon party to show his support. He said, "In America, if you obey the law, everyone has the freedom of religion, assembly, and one can make his or her own choices. Today, we assembled here to promote this principle. Under this principle, people are equal, including Falun Gong."

A visiting scholar at Harvard University, Mr. Fang Jue said he was very happy to be invited to the "thank you" party. Though the Chinese Community Party has persecuted Falun Gong for four years, the world community is showing more and more support to Falun Gong. This is the result of the tireless endeavors of the practitioners. He encouraged the practitioner talking to him to persist and said that the voice of justice will prevail over the voice of dictatorship.

The representatives happily accepted gifts from the practitioners that contained truth-clarifying materials, practitioners' calligraphy art, and traditional Chinese gift boxes. The two hundred prepared gifts could not meet the demand.

That day, many clerks and policemen working at the State Capitol also came to the party to have lunch and watch the performances. They talked to the practitioners and made friends. Due to having more guests come than expected, the party extended for another hour and completed successfully.
