Overseas Consulate Rejects Practitioner's Passport Renewal--Clear Evidence of Jiang's Orchestrated Persecution of Overseas Falun Gong Practitioners

My name is Zhang Xiaoping; I am a Falun Dafa practitioner living in Hungary. Near the end of May of 2003, my passport expired and on May 26, 2003, I went to the Chinese embassy to apply for an extension. I was given an appointment for June 19, 2003 to pick up my passport.

When I came back to get my passport on that day, I was told that my passport extension was rejected and my passport would not be returned to me. I asked the Consulate staff for the reason and they told me it was because I practice Falun Gong. I insisted on them returning my passport, but they said that they needed to ask for permission from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs before they could do that. During my conversation with them, they told me fabricated stories, defamed Dafa, and used all kinds of lies to persuade me to give up practicing Falun Gong. They also said that the one and only way to get my passport back was to write a report claiming that I had given up practicing Falun Gong. They planed to use this method of confiscating my passport to make be become an undocumented person thus creating a legal problem for me in Hungary; affecting my ability to work here, affecting my children's right to go to school, and to extort me into giving up my belief in "Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance." This is another piece of evidence of persecution of overseas Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang's regime.
