A Dafa practitioner was detained at the No. 4 Team in the No. 4 Building of Beijing City's East Prison. Another practitioner who had been transferred there from the No. 6 Team told him/her that one night a fellow practitioner was beaten to death by a criminal whom the police had urged on. The criminal's term was immediately reduced to one year and s/he was released in 2002. When I was in prison, a prisoner by the last name of Wang told Dafa practitioners, "Nobody would be held accountable for killing a Falun Gong practitioner."

The Wafangdian Prison is now holding several male Dafa practitioners from the Shenyang City area. All were secretly sentenced in November 2002 to more than eight years of imprisonment for unwarranted reasons. Since March 2003, police began utilizing collaborators* to brutally brainwash these practitioners. They claimed that the practitioners would get a reduction in their terms once they wrote a so-called "Ideological understanding." The practitioners whose names we know are: Mr. Tan Xinyu, Mr. Tan Kaiyu, Mr. Wang Tianyu (eight years of imprisonment), and Mr. Li Shangrong (ten years of imprisonment).

Police ransacked practitioner Mr. Yang Jianmin's home, sent him to the No. 3 Division in the Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp, and sentenced him to two years of forced labor.

At 6:00 p.m. on June 25, 2003, personnel from the "610 Office"** and the police department arrested Mr. Dai Fugui at his home. At around 5:30 p.m., five or six policemen knocked at Dai Fugui's door, but Dai didn't open the door. The policemen then went to his son's work unit and took the key from him. They took Dai Fugui to the Hongweixing Brainwashing Center and tortured him. That same night, Dafa practitioner Zhan Chunrong was also arrested.

[Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Arrests of a Number of Dafa Practitioners, Including Mr. Jiao Zhihua

At 10:00 p.m. on June 30, 2003, police arrested practitioner Mr. Jiao Zhihua at his home.

Since 2003, one after another, fellow practitioners working on truth-clarifying materials in the Chaoyang District have been arrested. During the past two weeks, ten practitioners who had worked on preparing truth-clarifying materials were arrested.

Ms. Qi Hongjin lives in the Zhouda residential area in Shijiazhang City. On the afternoon of June 16, 2003, personnel from the Yuqiang Police Precinct arrested her and ransacked her home. Her husband, Mr. Yang Zhixiong, who works in Beijing, was later also taken to the Yuqiang Police Station. The husband and wife are both from Xiong County and have no relatives in Shijiazhuang City. Their 13-year-old son is left at home without care.

Ms. Cui Shifang is a Falun Gong practitioner from Xiaolin Village of Lanshan District in Linyi City, Shangdong Province. Recently, Cui and her elder daughter were detained at the Linyi Brainwashing Center for persecution. Cui's younger daughter, who is a practitioner, went to visit them at the brainwashing center, but was then arrested.

In mid-June of 2003, Shuncheng District's "610 Office" in Fushun City started a brainwashing session at the Shuncheng District Hospital. The planned schedule was a session lasting 20 days. The "610 Office" issued an arrest quota for each residential area. In collusion with local police, residential committee personnel arrested practitioners by going door to door.

Meanwhile, practitioner Yu Shourong and Zhang Suying, from Wanxin District of Fushun City, and practitioner Du Jingqin, from Xinbin County of Fushun City, were illegally arrested and taken to the Masanjia Labor Camp.

On May 13, 2003, "World Falun Dafa Day," a non-practitioner from Xintun Street in the Dongzhou District in Fushun City/Liaoning Province saw many Dafa banners hanging in the park. He was interested, and he pointed at them. Police saw him and as a result they arrested him, took him to the station, and forced him to write a guarantee document, promising not to practice Falun Gong. He was detained for a day and night and was extorted of 2,000 Yuan.*** His family is very poor and his parents are both suffering from brain thrombus and have no money to see a doctor. His father stays in bed all year long and his mother walks with a cane. Afraid that their son might suffer torture, the parents borrowed money to bail him out.

[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Arrest of Practitioners Pang Lihui, Liang Zihui, and Her Husband Chen Ruichang

On June 12, 2003, when practitioner Ms. Liang Zihui from the Dongshan District in Guangzhou City was working, more than 30 policemen broke into her office and took her away. Her husband, Chen Ruichange, who is also a practitioner, disappeared at the same time. Now their whereabouts are unknown.

On June 23, 2003, practitioner Pang Lihui from the Dongshan District in Guangzhou City was kidnapped on her way home. Her home was ransacked the following day and her whereabouts are unknown.

On June 13th, policemen arrested Dafa practitioners Ms. Xu Chuanfang and her daughter, Ms. Zhang Ting, from the Kuiwen District in Weifang City. Lawless policemen and personnel from the residence committee broke into their home and confiscated all equipment used to print Dafa literature. After they were released and had returned home, police forcibly arrested them again. They are now illegally detained at the Industrial Technician School for forcible brainwashing.

On the morning of June 26th or June 27th, police arrested Dafa practitioner Ms. Yan Yongcong for speaking out for Falun Dafa. She is a grade 95 from the Electronics Machine Department at Chongqing University, who works in Guangyuan City's Dongba 640 Team, affiliated with the Chinese Geology Company. The arresting officers were from the local police precinct. Her current situation is unknown.

On May 13th, "World Falun Dafa Day," some Dafa practitioners in Hebei Province held an experience sharing conference. Over 30 Dafa practitioners from eight or nine villages attended this conference. Through this conference, disputes among Dafa practitioners were resolved. At the same time, this conference reinforced their confidence in clarifying the truth, sending forth righteous thoughts, and studying the Fa. All Dafa practitioners made huge progress.

Information from Jingchu Online: On July 1st, the Net Café Monitoring System covering the whole province was implemented. This monitoring system cost billions of Yuan. After being admitted, anyone who wants to browse the Internet must input their true name and ID number [similar to a social security number]. If the name and ID number do not coincide, one will be refused to log in. At midnight, all computers in all net cafes will be uniformly shut down. This system can remotely access the screen of any computer in any net facility, and also can start it up or shut it down. This system covers three levels - provincial, city, and county. All net cafes that have been re-registered after having been checked out are under the control of this system. It was reported that after checking and re-registering, the number of net cafes in Hubei Province shrunk from 6,400 to 5,000.

* "Collaborators" are Former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture.

** The "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.

*** Yuan: 500 Yuan is the average monthly income in urban area of China, in rural areas it is much less.
