Joint Defense Guards" to Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners Recently, the Public Security Branches in Baoding City, collaborating with
each working unit in that city, issued a document regarding the creation of the
"Security Joint Defense Guards" with a monthly pay of 500 yuan. For example, the
Long Distance Transportation Company is hiring of "Security Joint Defense
Guards" for security on running buses; and each department store, free market,
supermarket are hiring "Security Joint Defense Guards" to watch over customers.
However, their true purpose is to find Falun Dafa practitioners who explain
truth of Falun Dafa at these places. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang jie Tortured
in the Zhangshi Ms. Zhang Jie, 48 years old, is a commercial inspection officer from Dalian
City. She freed herself from illegal detention in a forced labor camp with
righteous thoughts. Around May 1, 2002, she was trapped and sent to the Dalian
Brainwashing Center for nine months. But she never yields to evil and maintains
an unshakable belief in Teacher. During the Chinese New Year of 2003, she was
transferred to the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City, where she was
subject to all means of torture. She was facing bodily punishment at all hours
of the day. For half a month, she was not allowed to sleep 24 hours a day.

With her unshakable belief in the Fa, she went on a hunger strike, protesting
against her illegal detention. The evil policemen force-feed her and tortured

Ms. Wang Lan, Ms. Zhang Guizhi, and Ms. Jia Zhenhua were illegally arrested in
Talagao Township. Jia Zhenhua was beaten so badly that she lost consciousness
immediately and had to be sent to the hospital. Wang Lan and Zhang Guizhi were
sent to the Wujiawa Detention House. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Li Wenjing Is
Detained Many Times Li Wenjing, from the Xiahuayuan District, was illegally sentenced to one year
in a forced labor camp in 2001. During his detention, he was dismissed from his
working unit [working unit represents both "job" and "workplace" as one entity
-- polishers note]. After the completion of his term in the forced labor camp,
Li Wenjing went to the director of the District regarding his work. However, he
was illegally arrested and sent to the Zhangjiakou Brainwashing Class. Because

Practitioner Wang Junfeng, from the Xuanhua District of Hebei Province was
illegally sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp in July 2000. Soon after
their release, was once again sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp for
clarifying the truth. The illegal term came to its end on June 20, 2003.
However, the forced labor camp didn't release this person. Currently Wang

any detainees whose body temperature is over 37 C, according to an order from
the higher authorities, it is said. But before the SARS outbreak, these places
accepted all Falun Gong practitioners even though they could not pass the
medical examination. A few days ago, when a detention center was doing a medical
examination on Falun Gong practitioners detained there, they found that these
practitioners' body temperatures were on the rise . So they could not do
anything but return these practitioners back to each police substation Due to
the difficultly these substations had handling both the arrest and the detention
of these practioners, some practitioners were unconditionally released. Some
walked out of detention center with righteous thoughts. Thus the evil scheme of
detaining practitioners failed. [Tonghua County, Jilin Province] Practitioner Song Wenhua Is Illegally
Abducted Song Wenhua was reported on and arrested while distributing truth-clarifying
materials in mid May. Police from the Public Security Bureau of the County broke
into Song's home that evening and illegally searched the place. In addition,
they illegally detained Song and sent him to the Tonghua Detention Center. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner Kang Xiaoqin Illegally Abducted Around 6 o'clock on the morning of May 30, 2003, about eight policemen from
the Xintun Police Substation and the Dongzhou Criminal Police Team broke into
35-year-old practitioner, Ms. Kang Xiaoqin's home. They took all Falun Dafa
books and related materials, plus over 4000 yuan in cash. Kang Xiaoqin was
arrested and illegally sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp, where, during the
medical examination, she was foundto be suffering from a serious heart condition
. So, the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp refused to accept her. Currently she is

Persecuted The police from the Maojian Public Security Branch in Shiyan City illegally
arrested Chen Lihua. The heads of the "610 Office" employed all possible means
of torture in order to brainwash this person and damage the local material site.
However, Chen Lihua went on a hunger strike and causing the failure of their
vicious scheme. Currently Chen Lihua has been sent to the No.1 Detention House
in Shiyan City, where the evil police are collecting so-called evidence in order
to intensify their persecution. Chen Lihua is very firm in cultivation practice.
Ms. Yan Xiuhong was illegally sentenced to eight years in jail for
distributing truth-clarifying materials. Policemen Pei Zhiyong, Guan Zhijun and

forcibly searched her home and confiscated 20,000 yuan in cash. The money hasn't

According to an inside source, the policeman from this substation kept her in
the Shijing Detention Center, claiming that she was spreading truth-clarifying
materials. Over 50-year-old Li Liqing is a retired employee from the Wind Machine Plant
in Guangzhou City. She started to learn Falun Dafa in 1997. Before that, she was
well known for suffering from many diseases. The plant spent a large sum of
money on her treatment. After she practiced Falun Dafa, a great change occurred.
Not only did she become healthy and free from illnesses, but she also got rid of
many of her bad attitudes and became very kind and compassionate. People who
knew her said that she has become a totally different person . She often says
that Falun Dafa has given her a 2nd life. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Geng Jingxiao Is Sent to the
Brainwashing Class in Shijiazhuang City Ms. Geng Jingxiao is an employee from the Hebei Medicine Plant who lives in
Taoyuan Village. She was arrested while explaining the truth of Falun Dafa to
people in the plant. She was sent to a brainwashing class in the capital city of
Hebei Province. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Zhang Xinyi Couple Illegally Arrested On May 12, 2003, Zhang Xinyi Couple (a married couple) was illegally arrested
by the police from the Guanghan Public Security Bureau. According to witnesses,
over ten policemen went to their home and searched their place, turning it
upside down. They confiscated a number of Falun Dafa books, exercise tapes,
truth-clarifying VCDs and stickers. During the search, Zhang Xinyi couple was
collecting wheat in the field, where they were arrested. Currently Zhang Xiyi is
being illegally detained in the Guanghanhe Xinchun Brainwashing Center. [Donggang City, Liaoning Province] The Donggang Public Security Bureau
Illegally arrested practitioners Liu Zhiqing and Yang Chundi on June 18 [Yantai City, Shangdong Province] Jiang X Appears in Yantai City, Shandong
Province According to reliable sources, Jiang X went to Yantai City on June 24, 2003.
He went to visit the Tongyong Vehicle Manufacturer around 4:00 pm on June 24. It
