Crimes Committed by Police in Handan City, Hebei Province
(Clearwisdom.net) Handan City in Hebei Province is a place where the persecution against Falun
Gong practitioners is taking a heavy toll. In some large residential areas,
residents have been divided into groups of 10 households where the group leader
is in charge of keeping an eye on the residents. There would be great danger to
all if a practitioner were exposed, so when residents receive materials which
clarify the facts about Falun Dafa, they dare not even take a look. On June 2nd, 2003 at the Wangwang Internet Café on Lingxi Street,
Police Agents Zheng Junqi, Chen Zhiping with the Guangming Bridge Police Station
of the Congan Public Security Sub-Bureau arrested a Falun Gong practitioner from
another province. The practitioner refused to answer any questions, protesting
the illegal persecution, and was severely tortured by police agents. On June 3rd,
the practitioner was brutally beaten and was carried to the Handan No. 1 Jail.
The practitioner was thrown onto the ground and had to remain there for the
whole day and night (other sources say for 3 days and nights). Later, prison
guards ordered inmates to torture and force-feed the practitioner. The current
state of this practitioner is unknown. It was reported that in 2002 before the 16th Party Congress and
before the national "2003 Two Conferences" [referring to the "National People's
Congress (NPC)" and the "Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC)"],
Handan City Police Agents fined, detained and arrested Falun Gong practitioners,
searched their homes, threw practitioners into labor camps, etc. They even took
away practitioner's money, deposit certificates, as well as money for
electricity and natural gas. When family members tried to recover the money
back, they denied that they had even taken it. |
