Jilin City Police's Plan to Sentence Practitioner to Forced Labor Fails

On May 2, 2003, practitioner Mr. Guo Yunqing from Jilin City, Jilin Province was arrested for printing Falun Dafa truth-clarification materials. That day, the Political and Protection Section police of Changyi station took turns to torture Guo Yunqing. They tied him to a specially designed metal chair, tied a rope around his neck and tightened the rope so that he could not move. Unable to discover the source of the Dafa materials and truth-clarification VCD, the police gagged Guo with a towel, poured mustard powder in his nose over and over again, and covered his mouth with several plastic bags. They covered Guo's eyes and continued to cruelly torture him, trying to force a confession. The plastic bags nearly suffocated Guo Yunqing.

Jilin Province Changyi Public and Security Bureau chief Liu and Political and Protection section chief Du Xingze gave the order to torture Guo Yunqing, as they wanted to extract a confession. They use the same base methods to persecute other Dafa practitioners.

On May 22, after Guo had been abused for 20 days, he was unlawfully sentenced to 3 years of forced labor by the Changyi Public and Security unit, and sent to the Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp in Jiutai City, Jilin Province. The forced labor camp did not accept him, given that the SARS epidemic had not subsided and he showed symptoms of running a low fever. Therefore, he was held at Yanan Road local police station.

On June 30, the police again tried again to have Guo Yunqing admitted to the forced labor camp. A physical examination revealed a number of health problems, including heart trouble. The forced labor camp rejected him again. They had no choice but to send him home on July 2, 2003.
