[Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Government Officials Attempt to Stop Dafa
Practitioners from Clarifying the Truth through TV
Recently, the Gongzhuling City committee and persons from the city government
called up most work unit officials to a meeting, discussing how to prevent Dafa
practitioners from clarifying the truth through cable TV and the Internet. They
demanded that work unit officials divide employees into groups and take turns to
keep watch. This makes more work for everyone and consequently leads people who
don't know the truth to hate Dafa and Dafa practitioners.
[Langfang City, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Li Baowei, a Police Officer
from the Judicial Department, is Forced to Leave Home
Mr. Li Baowei, a police officer for Langfang City's Judicial Department, was
illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor for persisting in Dafa
practice. After he was released from the labor camp, his work unit refused to
employ him again. On July 24, 2003, his work unit called him in with the excuse
of talking about work, but instead, the thugs handcuffed him and sent him to a
brainwashing center. On July 27, Li Baowei got out of the brainwashing center
with righteous thoughts, but he was forced to leave home to avoid illegal
arrest.

[Yanqing County, Beijing City] Dafa Practitioner Yang Jinxia Stages a Hunger
Strike to Protest the Persecution
Ms. Yang Jinxia persists in Dafa practice. She went to Beijing many times to
validate Dafa. The police put her on a wanted list. After she was forced to
leave home, she kept clarifying the truth and validating Dafa. She was arrested
and detained many times. She escaped twice with righteous thoughts. In 2000, she
almost died from torture at Chaoyang District Police Department in Beijing. Her
husband Mr. Han Shimin is also a Dafa practitioner. In June 2000, he was
illegally sentenced to six years of imprisonment for clarifying the truth,
validating Dafa and making truth- clarifying materials.
In September 2002, Yang Jinxia clarified the truth to a taxi driver on her
way to Langfang City, but the driver reported her to the police for a reward. As
a result, the police arrested and sent Yang to Division No.7 of Beijing City
Police Department. She was later transferred to Beijing City's Fengtai Detention
Center, where thousands of Yuan** were taken from her, as well as her cell phone
and other personal belongings. Her family went to visit her twice to bring her
money and clothes, but the police refused to issue a pass and didn't allow her
family to visit her. Her family's letter to her was also confiscated. A person
who was detained with her made a phone call to her family and told them that
Yang was brutally tortured and it seemed her leg(s) was broken from beatings.
For more than six months afterwards, nothing was heard from her. Recently, it
was learned that she had been transferred to Tong County's Qiaozhuang Detention
Center in Beijing in early July. She has been on a hunger strike for six months,
and now she needs help walking. The police still don't want to release her and
are planning to sentence her in court.

[Beijing] Dafa Practitioner Wang Zhiming from the China Garments Co, Ltd. is
Forced to Leave Home
Mr. Wang Zhiming, in his 30's, is a Dafa practitioner who often went to the
Tuanjiehu Park practice site in the Chaoyang District in Beijing. He worked at
the Import & Export Department for the China Garments Co, Ltd. He is kind
and sincere, and his solid work ethic won the praise of many colleagues. He was
illegally detained many times for persisting in Dafa practice, and the police
beat him up. Later, his work unit officials forcibly sent him to a brainwashing
class. At the class he was deluded, but he realized his mistake after he
returned home. In order to avoid further brainwashing and labor camp
persecution, he was forced to leave home in July 2001. He faces the risk of
being arrested and being sent to a labor camp if he returns home.
He has a beautiful six-year-old son. Most of the time his wife has few words
because she is worried about his personal safety.

Personnel from Xingcheng City "610 Office" are going to hold a
month-long brainwashing session in the Hongyazi District. They are planning to
abduct 40 Dafa practitioners to fill the quota.

[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Personnel at the Xinglongshan Brainwashing
Center Torture Dafa Practitioner Mr. Jin Jinghui to the Point of Disability
Eight people at Changchun City's Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp beat up
practitioner Mr. Jin Jinghui. As he persisted in his belief and didn't yield to
the evil persecution, the local "610 Office" authorities transferred
him to Changchun City's Xinglongshan Brainwashing Center. It was done on January
23, 2003 when his detention term had expired. His four limbs were tied to a bed.
Two designated people monitored him. The cruel torture has been going on for
over two months now. At present, his back is so seriously injured that it is
crooked. He is unable to walk normally, but is still under detention and has not
received any necessary medical treatment.
[Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Torture Facts of Dafa Practitioners in the
Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp
In February 2003, personnel at Jiutai City's Yinmahe Forced Labor Camp tried
to brainwash several Dafa practitioners. As the practitioners refused to bow to
the pressure, overseer Meng, Zheng Hailing (chief of the Management Section),
Zeng Fanyi (chief of the Education Section), instructor Meng, team leaders Ma,
Lu and others tortured them. Many practitioners were shocked with electric
batons, beaten up, locked in a "strictly monitored" room or in
solitary confinement. Dafa practitioner Mr. Sun was held in solitary
confinement. He was forced to sleep on the floor and was only given a very thin
quilt cover. These camp personnel even intentionally opened the windows to
expose him to the freezing weather.
[Langfang City, Hebei Province] Dafa Practitioner Guo Xiaohui is Force-Fed
On January 15, 2003, Ms. Guo Xiaohui was arrested while printing some Dafa
truth-clarifying material in Fengrun County, Tangshan City. She is now held at
Fengrun County's Lubei Police Station. She suffered excruciating physical
torture many times, such as being put on a metal chair, being tied to an
executioner's bed, and suffering shocks from electric batons (Clearwisdom.net
reported the persecution before.) She staged three hunger strikes to protest the
persecution. One lasted 26 days. She is now extremely emaciated and is unable to
take care of herself. Police tie her arms to a metal bed and force-feed her on a
daily basis. Every policeman removed 50 Yuan from her deposit for a so-called
"allowance." Her family members and fellow practitioners had deposited
quite a lot of money for her. The police are taking her money without her
consent, which amounts to stealing.

[Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Personnel from the "610 Office"
Torture Dafa Practitioner Zhou Baoguo with Excruciating Means During His
Detention
On July 29, 2003, news came from Hengyang County's Detention Center:
practitioner Mr. Zhou Baoguo was beaten up by personnel from the city's
"610 Office" during detention because he insisted on his belief. He
suffered all kinds of excruciating tortures and was force-fed several times for
staging hunger strikes. He was tortured so severely that he is extremely thin
and his life is in great danger.
Brief introduction of Mr. Zhou Baoguo: He is a 49-year-old worker. His wife
is not a practitioner, but they always have had a good relationship. He is a
kind and sincere person and had several times received an award as "Model
Worker" from his work unit. Colleagues who know him all say that he doesn't
have any ambition to become a leader or make a fortune, thus he could not
possibly have any political purpose. He personally experienced benefits from
practicing Falun Gong and trusts Falun Gong is beneficial to society as well.

[Langfang City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Miao Guilan's Two-Year Forced
Labor Sentence
Ms. Miao Guilan, an employee of the 3523 Factory, Langfang City, was
sentenced to two years of forced labor because she did not give in to demands at
a brainwashing class. Before she was brought to the brainwashing class, she was
arrested from home, detained in a detention center for more than three months
and her home was ransacked. Now her daughter is left home alone.

Brainwashing Center
It has been more than two years that the practitioners detained at the
brainwashing center in Lanfang City's Yuecheng Hotel have been monitored by
economic policemen. Since the mid of July, the policemen were replaced with
operative policemen. The brainwashing class is tightly secured and the detailed
information is unknown.
[Jingyu County, Jilin Province] Arrest of Practitioners
Soon after July 20, Jingyu County police officers started a door-to-door
campaign to inspect practitioners. The police arrested six practitioners after
they found Dafa books in their homes. Among the detained practitioners, three
have been released. Practitioners who are still detained are: Ms. Zhang Fengqin,
Ms. Wang Shuqin, and Ms. Huang. Additionally, practitioner Ms. Li Jinghua was
forced to leave home and wander about to avoid further persecution.
[Beijing] Practitioners Pan Guisuo and Liu Yumei are Sentenced to Two Years
of Forced Labor
Ge Liang and Jia Yulong from Jixiang Village reported practitioners Ms. Pan
Guisuo and Ms. Liu Yumei from Hongguosi, Liubinbao Township, Yanqing County,
Beijing, to police when the practitioners were posting Dafa truth-clarifying
materials. On May 22, 2003, the police from Liubinbao Township Police Precinct
deceived Fan and Liu to come to the local police station. They detained the
practitioners at the Yanqing Detention Center for a month. On June 30 2003, Fan
and Liu were sentenced to two years forced labor and sent to Daxing County.

[Baishan City, Jilin Province] Arrest of Practitioners
Soon after July 20, the police from Wangou Town went to every practitioner's
home to ransack their homes and arrest practitioners when they found Dafa books
or materials. The police also stayed at nearby practitioners' homes to monitor
and harass practitioners.
[Xingtai City, Hebei Province] More than Twenty Dafa Practitioners are
Illegally Detained at Xingtai City's Brainwashing Center
In September 2002, Xingtai City authorities set up a so-called "Legal
System Education Center," which was actually a brainwashing center. Now
more than twenty Dafa practitioners are illegally detained there. The
collaborators*** were extremely vicious. They didn't allow Dafa practitioners to
go to the toilet, thus forcing practitioners to soil their pants. Furthermore,
they didn't allow Dafa practitioners to sleep, tortured Dafa practitioners by
all kinds of despicable means and infused them with lies. In order to boast of
their "achievements," they are preparing to participate in the reports
meeting held by Hebei Province's government next month.

[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Police Unlawfully Arrest Dafa Practitioner
Ms. Ma Lianxiao
Ms. Ma Lianxiao is 57 years old. On the morning of July 11, 2003, when she
went to her work unit, the Liaoning Province Architectural Science Academy to
clarify the truth of Falun Gong, she happened to encounter personnel from the
Jixian Community and Jixian Police Precinct attending a meeting there. Later, a
young lawless policeman from the Jixian Police Precinct packed her into a taxi
and took her away. Afterwards, her work place, the community and the police
precinct blocked the news. Now, Ma's whereabouts are unknown. Her work place had
already suspended her salary since June of 2001.
Ms. Ma had been illegally detained twice, in 1999 and 2001, because she went
to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and had distributed truth-clarifying
materials. In November 2001, after she went on a hunger strike for 24 days, she
escaped from Shenyang City's Detention Center and Dabei Prison's Hospital with
righteous thoughts. After that, she had to live a homeless life to avoid further
persecution.

[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] He Jialong, an Engineer for Shenyang
City's Railway, is Illegally Detained at Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp's
Brainwashing Center
Mr. He Jialong is an engineer for Shenyang City's Railway. At noon on July
24, 2003, some people from his work place arrested him. They illegally took him
to Shenyang City's "Legal System Education School," which is actually
a brainwashing center set up in the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp.

Men Fawang
Men Fawang used to be in charge of a police precinct. In 2000, he brutally
tortured Dafa practitioners in the Qilihe Brainwashing Center. He had Dafa
practitioners exposed to hot sun, pricked practitioners with electric needles
and forced practitioners to stand still on a brick or kneel down on hard wooden
surface. Some Dafa practitioners were covered with bruises. Some even fainted
from the brutal torture. After he retired, he was still lured by self-interest
and continued to persecute Dafa practitioners.
