Jilin Province Dafa practitioner Deng Shiying was brutally persecuted for more than 10 months in the Women's Prison of Jilin Province. On July 18, 2003, her family members took her back home when she was in a coma. At 1:00 p.m. on the next day, she passed away.

Ms. Deng Shiying, a 42 year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Jilin Province, was a resident of Longtan District. On September 15, 2002, Du Jinglu, a person in the Taiping Village, Chundeng Township, Yongji County reported Deng Shiying for distributing Dafa truth-clarification materials. She was detained in Yongji County Detention Center and arrested by the Yongji County Public and Security Bureau on October 17, 2002. On February 18, 2003, the Intermediate People's Court in Jilin Province sentenced her to 7 years in prison. During the trial, Deng Shiying wrote on the judgment statement: "Restore my Teacher's good reputation, immediately announce that I am innocent, and release me at once." In the face of her righteous action, the court hastily ended the trial.

In the beginning of March 2003, she was sent to the Women's Prison of Jilin Province. She has suffered various tortures and cruel persecution in the prison. On July 18, 2003, she lost consciousness and was near death. At 9:30 p.m., her family members took her to the No. 2 Hospital of East Metal Chemical Company in Jilin City. On July 19 at 1:00 p.m., she passed away. In total, Deng Shiying has been brutally persecuted for 10 months and 4 days.

Deng Shiying started practicing Falun Gong in1996. She has strictly conducted herself according to the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance." The many diseases she had before were all cured without treatment. She was a very open and honest person. When she was facing the evil's frenzied persecution and the immense pressure of Jiang's regime utilizing all the propaganda tools to poison the kind-hearted people in China and the whole world, like so many genuine practitioners, Deng Shiying bravely stepped out to clarify the truth in order to save the people who had been poisoned by the lies.

In February 2000, she was arrested when sharing her experience at a fellow practitioner's home in Longtan Local Police Station in Jilin City, and sentenced to one year of "reeducation through forced labor." During the period of imprisonment at Changchun City's Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, she was steadfast in her belief in Dafa, persisted in practicing the exercises, and never compromised with the evil, no matter what the conditions were. The guards of the No. 2 brigade Zhang Lilan, Liu Lianying, Lang Cuiping, Ma Tianshu, Yu Bo and Ren Feng used all kinds of excruciating methods to persecute Deng Shiying. They shocked her with electric batons countless times, tied her on a "dead person's bed"*, beat her with rubber tubes, and violently force-fed her. She was not allowed to sleep at night, and forced to do the heaviest labor during the daytime. She suffered extreme distress. At the mean time, the guards also used former practitioners who had turned against Dafa under duress to forcibly brainwash her, and persecuted her physically and mentally. In spite of all of this, Deng Shiying not only firmly practiced Falun Gong, but also helped some of the former practitioners to see their mistakes. The guards were very scared of her. After she has been detained in the forced labor camp for one year, her term was extended for another 9 months and 8 days before she was released.

After returning home, she continued to clarify the facts of the persecution to the public even under enormous pressure. She remained compassionate, modest, willingly to bear the burden of hard work and always thought about others. Both everyday people and fellow practitioners who met her highly admired her conduct. She always had a smile on her face and strictly conducted herself according to the standard of a Falun Gong practitioner from the beginning, whether it was before July 20, 1999, or facing the evil persecution. She told fellow practitioners that her life was for the Fa-rectification.

From early March to July 19, 2003, Deng Shiying was severely tortured at the Women's Prison of Jilin Province. However she never cooperated with the police's demands, and openly and honorably practiced Dafa. She suffered inhuman treatment and torment in the prison, but she treated the people around her with a pure heart and great compassion, as a Dafa practitioner should. Everyday she suffered the severe abuse from criminal prisoners Jin Shunhua, Miao Hua and Zhao Tian in her cell, sometimes even 7~8 criminals beat her at the same time. Deng still had no resentment and hatred, and kept telling them the facts and encouraging them to do good deeds. Finally, as the beatings and torture continued and escalated, she was barely able to remain conscious, and suffered from continuous vomiting and extreme pain in her entire body.

Deng Shiying was sentenced to 7 years in prison and held at the Women's Prison of Jilin Province. The prison officials did not allow any visits from her family members, fearing the exposure of their conduct. However, they were also afraid of her dying in their custody, so they called her family members to pick her up on July 17, 2003. In the afternoon of the same day, when her family members came, they found that she only weighed about 25 to 30 kg and was in a coma. At 9:30 p.m., her family members sent her to the No. 2 Hospital of East Metal Chemical Company in Jilin for emergency treatment. At that time, the doctor told her family members that Deng Shiying's vital organs had suffered severe injuries and failure, the gallbladder was destroyed, the cranial nerve had suffered from fibrosis, and the cerebellum had withered and calcified. She could not be saved by the hospital. Deng Shiying passed away at 1:00 p.m. on the next day.

Kind and pure Dafa practitioner Deng Siying has left us. She was paralyzed and tortured to death, only because she wanted to be a truthful person, do truthful deeds, be a good person, and tell people that "Falun Dafa is good" and facts of the persecution.

* "Dead Person's Bed": The four limbs of the practitioner are stretched out and tied to the four corners of an icy-cold metal bed. The practitioner cannot move at all. Neither is he allowed to get up to eat, drink, or go to the bathroom. This treatment would last from several hours up to more than a dozen days.
