Police from Mancheng County abducted seven female practitioners from their
homes in Dakanxia Village, Mencheng County, Baoding City, Hebei Province late at
night on February 26, 2003. The seven were Yin Fengqin, Yin Xiuqin, Yan Suqin,
Yin Shuzhen, Yin Shufen, Yin Yingshu and Wang Yanling. They refused to cooperate
with their captors, and went on a group hunger strike to protest. The police
tortured them very cruelly.
Yin Fengqin and Yin Xiuqin were sentenced to 2 years in Baoding Force Labor
Camp. The authorities extorted 2000 Yuan each from the other 5.
Since April 25, 2003, police in Mancheng County have stepped up their
persecution efforts against Dafa practitioners with 4 more being abducted. One
of the practitioners had 7000 Yuan seized. The other two each had 6000 Yuan
extorted from them. Another practitioner was illegally searched at his home and
yet another one had 3000 Yuan stolen. (Note: The extortions mentioned above
refer to the police coercing payments from practitioners' family members without
the practitioners knowledge)
In addition, Jia Yutian from Mancheng County was illegally detained 3 times
because Jia and his wife continue practicing Falun Dafa. They were forced to be
on the run all the time with no home to return to.
