Chen Chien-jen: Falun Gong Has Made Great Contributions to the Taiwan Community (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net August 1) The head of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representatives Office in the US, Mr. Chen Chien-jen, stated in Washington DC on July 21 that Falun Gong has made great contributions to the Taiwanese Community. The Taiwan government and he hoped Falun Gong could be spread even more widely. He also emphasized that the Chinese regime's persecution of Falun Gong was a wrong decision, denying people their freedoms of belief and speech, and showing that the ruling Party does not attach great importance to human rights and democracy.

The number of Taiwan Falun Gong practitioners who attended the gatherings in the US this year was greater than in any other years. On the afternoon of July 21, Mr. Chen Chien-jen met with representatives of Taiwan Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Chang Chin-hwa, an associate professor of journalism at the National Taiwan University, and twenty other practitioners at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representatives Office in the US.

Chen Chien-jen said, "In a free and democratic society, all people respect human rights and beliefs, and the world is like a big family. As for Falun Gong, whether it is a principle or a way to preserve one's health, it should be respected--not to mention that it is indeed a great help to people physically and mentally. I support Falun Gong from the standpoint of a representative of the Taiwan government. For myself, I am very glad to see that you are trying your best to spread this principle." He also expressed that he would try his best to cooperate with Falun Gong practitioners and offer his help.

Regarding the journey Falun Gong has gone through over the last few years, he said, "Of course, at the beginning, people did not quite understand Falun Gong, and this was a fact. But over the past few years, everybody has seen that people from different social strata, including the academic field, business field, and from the government, all participate. If there were really anything wrong with it, people would have already noticed it. " In the end, he encouraged Falun Gong practitioners to extensively spread the principles of Falun Gong. The entire atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant.

During the conversation, Chen Chien-jen also expressed that many of his friends and relatives, schoolmates and colleagues practice Falun Gong and they all have made considerable improvement in both their physical and mental conditions. He believed that Falun Gong is absolutely a good cultivation way. The Taiwan government and he hoped that Falun Gong can be rapidly and extensively spread.

Regarding the four-year brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China, Chen Chien-jen believed that the Chinese regime made a bad decision, now it has forced itself to the point that it has no idea how to end it. He said, "The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners have made Falun Gong well known in Taiwan and all over the world. At present, the majority of people know about the Chinese regime's persecution of Falun Gong. Because of the persecution, many people learned about Falun Gong and became Falun Gong cultivators. Falun Gong hasn't been eliminated under the brutal suppression of the Chinese regime; instead, it has spread widely to more than 60 countries, proving that Falun Gong is absolutely effective and can attract people. Otherwise, it could not have drawn so many people to practice.
