A Friend in China Reveals How Policemen Get Rich Through Persecuting Falun Gong
By a friend from China
(Clearwisdom.net August 12, 2003) Friends, Many policemen in China are keen on persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, because persecuting
Falun Gong can bring them a generous profit (a lot of policemen in China do not believe in anything
but money). For example, when a provincial Falun Gong practitioner goes to Beijing [to appeal], a
policeman at the local office will be notified to take that practitioner back. All the expenses will
be reimbursed. Policemen singled out for such an assignment often feel lucky because this might be
their chance of a lifetime to experience a plane trip. On the way back, the policeman will typically
opt to take the train with that Falun Gong practitioner and pocket the price difference between the
cost of the airplane and train tickets. In addition, there are daily allowances for the trip. Upon
their return home, Falun Gong practitioners' family members are obliged to pay the expenses and
spend money to bail out the practitioner. This illustrates the general quality of policemen and government officials. They believe in
nothing. It's possible to work with them if you pay; otherwise, they do as they please. Falun Gong
practitioners suffer many grievances in detention centers, but as ordinary citizens they have no
ways to make themselves heard and to appeal.
