Dafa Practitioner Ms. Liu Chengyan In Critical Condition from Torture at the Second Detention Center of Fushun City, Liaoning Province

In October 2002, Dafa practitioner, Ms Liu Chengyan from Liaoning Province was abducted by the police and imprisoned in the Second Detention Center of Fushun City. Ms Liu's family members never knew where she was until the 2003 Chinese Spring Festival (February), when a guard named Guan from the detention center, made a call and asked them to send money. Only then did they know that she had been arrested.

Ms Liu has been badly tortured ever since she was thrown in jail. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The guards then commanded criminals to beat her brutally, which caused Ms Liu to go into shock. On July 14, 2003, when Ms Liu was taken to Fushun Central Hospital for emergency treatment, she was still wearing foot-shackles and handcuffs. The detention center then tried to extort money from her family members. Since her family did not have any money, the detention center decided not to let her receive any treatment. Instead, they took her back to the detention center on July 21. Now, Ms Liu is in critical condition and her life is in grave danger.

Note: Ms Liu was once illegally sentenced to two years of labor "education" and detained in Masanjia Labor Camp. In July 2001, over 350 Dafa practitioners in Masanjia Labor Camp went on hunger strikes together to protest the persecution. Ms Liu was one of them. Later, Ms Liu was released unconditionally and left the evil's den openly and with dignity.
