Japan: Yoko Kaneko Rescue Association Holds Signature Collection Campaign in Fukushima (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) On August 17, 2003, the Yoko Kaneko Rescue Association held a signature collection campaign to call for help getting Yoko Kaneko released soon. At 10 am, Falun Gong practitioners from Sendai, Yamagata and Fukushima set up poster boards in front of a major department store near Fukushima station. The poster boards gave details of the rescue Yoko Kaneko signature campaign and the lawsuit against the former Chinese leader Jiang. A tape recorder continuously broadcast the situation of Yoko Kaneko and the appeal to rescue her. The practitioners distributed truth-clarification literature while collecting signatures.

The weather turned to rain from cloudy. There were many pedestrians. Many passers-by read the posters attentively, or listened to our record. Passengers in passing buses saw our poster's content and asked for information when the buses stopped at the red light. Many read the information right away. Some wanted to sign after reading the information and expressed concern about Yoko Kaneko's situation. Some gave suggestions after signing. The people signing the form included old men, housewives, students, elderly ladies with grandchildren on their backs, mothers and daughters, and some entire families.

The rain did not stop the practitioners from distributing literature. They kept telling people about Yoko Kaneko's situation. Many people learned about Yoko Kaneko, Falun Gong, and many practitioners like Yoko Kaneko being persecuted. The signature campaign ended at 3 pm.

The campaign to rescue Yoko Kaneko will be held in other places throughout Japan. The rescue association and all kind-hearted people will continue their efforts until Yoko Kaneko returns to Japan safely and is reunited with her family.
