(Clearwisdom.net) From August 16 to 19, the 2003 Annual Conference of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) was held in Montreal. Over 500 lawyers, judges and other personnel in legal circles from across the country attended the conference. Falun Gong practitioners from Montreal and Ottawa clarified the facts about Falun Gong to many of those in attendance, and began their search for legal counsel in preparation to bring Jiang Zemin to justice in the Canadian legal system.

From 7 am to 6 pm on each day of the four-day meeting, on the plaza outside the conference hall, more than 10 practitioners were practicing the exercises, sending forth righteous thoughts, clarifying the facts about Falun Gong to the meeting attendees, and distributing truth-clarifying flyers, including information about the global initiatives to bring Jiang to justice.

A practitioner who distributed flyers said that the reason he practiced the exercises and distributed literature here was to let more people learn that Falun Dafa is great, and the extent of the persecution that practitioners endure. He wants to seek help and support from the bar association to file a lawsuit in Canada against the former leader of China Jiang Zemin, charging him for committing genocide against Falun Gong practitioners.

Falun Gong practitioners' peacefulness, tranquility and persistence touched many hearts. A constant stream of people came to ask for information. After reading the literature and the posters, some people came to ask for more information or to express their support for Falun Gong, condemning the persecution.

A couple from Taiwan sighed with emotion, "We often go to Mainland China for business purposes. I always asked them the same question: Why do all mishaps due to the practice of Falun Gong occur in the Mainland, while none happen in other countries? In Taiwan, there are many people practicing Falun Gong. Some of them are top scholars in their fields. They all say that Falun Gong is good after they practice it. Why is Mainland so different?" The gentleman continued, "I can only use this way to let them think of it and find the answer. If I directly told them the answer, I would be in trouble."

The former Canadian Foreign Minister and renowned lawyer Mr. Lloyd Axworthy delivered a speech on the morning of August 17 entitled, "Promote the Rule of Law in the Turbulent International Environment". He said that to help solve human rights problems and to safeguard citizens' security, those who infringe upon human rights must be brought to justice.

Ms. Yang, a practitioner, told the reporter, "During my contact with people in judiciary circles, I found that they all knew about Falun Gong. They all knew that Falun Gong is persecuted in China. Even when I mentioned suing Jiang in Canada, no one was surprised. This indicates that we are getting closer and closer to bringing Jiang to justice."
