Dear Mom and Dad,

Indeed, most of my spare time and energy nowadays are devoted to clarifying the truth about Falun Gong to people worldwide. We do so not because we want to accomplish some individual fulfillment or achievement, but because the situation is extremely critical. This persecution against Falun Gong is too absurd, too hideous and too atrocious.

Just as you had told me, a lot of people had learned that the so called "beggar murder case" featured in the "Focal Point Interview" was an outright lie designed to defame Falun Gong. How many similar slanders have been reiterated on TV, newspaper and radios during the past four years? There were many outright fabrications regarding Falun Dafa's teachings and wild distortion of the facts, even going so far as to create the horrific "Tiananmen self-immolation." Falun Gong practitioners have been slapped with the political labor of being "Political motivators" and "anti-China forces" etc. You don't have to be a genius to see the contradicting and illogical points. Just think, if there was such a group whose only concern from day to day was that the "earth is about to explode," "committing suicide," and "ascending to heaven after consummation," then how could they also be accused of "manipulating politics to seize power"? How could the government claim that a bunch of mentally irrational people, who "refuse medical treatment for illness" and "cut open their abdomen to find Falun," suddenly become "anti-China influences?" But all the same such fraudulent stories were broadcast repeatedly all over the world in prime time programs by our national TV channel.

The Jiang regime attempted to apply the tactic that "a lie repeated a thousand times becomes truth" in order to deceive people. How many Chinese citizens believed such lies which in turn incite hatred against Falun Gong? How many law enforcement personnel forcefully attempted to have Falun Gong practitioners renounce their belief in the principle of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, under the orders of their superiors? How many of them resorted to hideous and brutal means of persecution? When people all over China mourned the death of Wuhan University graduate Sun Zhigang [note: a student who died under illegal circumstances at the hands of authorities for a matter unrelated to Falun Gong], how many knew three Falun Gong practitioners had died under police brutality at the very same Tianhe detention center in Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, where Sun Zhigang died? Among them there was Gao Xianmin, a teacher at the Jinan University; Li Xiaojing, a teacher at the Guangzhou University; and Luo Zhixiang, a planning engineer at the Professional Design Center of the Agricultural Construction and Real Estate Corporation in Guangdong Province. What crime did they commit? How could those lawless law enforcement officials escape judicial responsibilities? That was because Jiang Zemin had instigated the policy to "Ruin [Falun Gong practitioners'] reputations, cut them off financially, and destroy them physically," and "Beat them to death without responsibility. Count the deaths as suicides." In China, how many detention centers and police officers are like that?

Falun Gong practitioners who insist on practicing "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" have their right to live a normal life stripped away from them. They are arbitrarily abducted and sentenced to jail, their careers and jobs are in peril, their children cannot attend school, and even their work unit and family members are subjected to harassment and punishment. No Chinese media dares to reveal and expose any facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. Worse yet, under the coercion of the Jiang regime, they must produce TV programs to deceive people, telling people how the prison system "compassionately transforms" Falun Gong practitioners. According to the practitioners who were rescued from detention, "The standard by which prison official gauge on how well they transformed the practitioners was to make them curse Falun Gong." They knew if practitioners started to curse, then it meant that they had given up their belief. At Tiananmen Square in Beijing if police suspected someone and wanted to find out, then they would often ask if they are a Falun Gong practitioner, or force them to curse. Because they know Falun Gong practitioners only speak truth and would never lie.

There is the proverb, "It takes a long journey to find out how good the horse is, and it takes time to find out about the true character of a person." Faced with the overwhelming suppression by such a powerful nation over the past four years, Falun Gong practitioners have never resorted to backhanded tactics and violence against law enforcement officials, not even once. In order to have other governments lending a supporting voice to continue this persecution, the Jiang regime spent the taxpayer's money to buy support from economically backward countries. Yet, no reputable country supported this persecution. On the contrary, Falun Gong received worldwide recognition and support. Any wise government leaders realize that a meditation exercise with such high moral standards and significant health benefits could only be beneficial to their country and society. Only the Chinese people still did not know about the facts because of the deception, cover-ups, and news blockade.

How could we let the hideous hoodlums carrying on such a large scale and atrocious persecution in China? It is not fair to the many Chinese citizens who are being deceived and continue to treat Falun Gong with hatred simply because they do not know the truth about Falun Gong. Especially many of the law enforcement officers who have committed much atrocities against Dafa practitioners just because they needed to keep their jobs or worse yet, for the sake of their self interest? Aren't those who participate in the persecution in danger? Aren't they a threat to the public? What disasters can they bring to the country?

As a Falun Gong practitioner, and as a human being who practices "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," shouldn't I extend every effort to tell the truth to more people? Let people have an opportunity to correctly determine their own thoughts on the matter?

I found friends from this group of practitioners and they are all very kind and intelligent. They are outstanding members of our society. If you have a chance to visit me this year, you will meet my friends. We wouldn't be doing all this if there was no persecution. As someone who knows the truth, I hope that you will view my efforts favorably in your heart.
