The DC Statehood Green Party: Falun Gong Receives Incredibly Brutal Persecution in China (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net July 26, 2003) The Epoch Times reported on July 26, 2003 that the Chairman of the DC Statehood Green Party said at the public rally on July 22 that Falun Gong receives incredibly brutal persecution because those persecutors fear facing the practitioners' kind nature. Jiang's fear drives himself away from these peaceful practitioners.

The Chairman said that we couldn't allow victims to be treated as criminals; we all seek a happy life and should not be treated as prisoner.

More than 5,000 Falun Gong practitioners from around the world gathered in front of the Capitol Hill and held a public rally calling on international help. Many members of congress attended and more than 30 prominent non-governmental organizations expressed their support directly or indirectly. The persecution of Falun Gong in China has become the biggest human rights issue of China. The US State Department and Amnesty International strongly condemned the persecution in their human rights reports.

The DC Statehood Party, a non-governmental organization, was founded on the concept that all human beings are entitled to certain rights, that among those rights the right of self-determination in a democratic government is paramount, and that statehood is the best and most necessary means to secure self-determination and other human rights for the citizens of the District of Columbia.
