The Fa-rectification process is pushing ahead very quickly. How can we better catch up with it? As an overseas practitioner, I believe that although it can be difficult to make phone calls to clarify the truth, it achieves very good results.
To make the phone calls is actually to face the evil directly. It requires a lot of courage and very good communication skills to make a good call. Whatever practitioners say, it conveys our way of thinking and will directly reflect our state of cultivation. When our state of cultivation is not good, what we say is not strong, and it is not easy to touch or hold people's interest. Sometimes, it may even arouse our attachment of competition. When our state of cultivation is very good, the practitioner's words will be pure, powerful, and strong enough to touch people's heart. When the listeners are enveloped in the field of our righteous thoughts, all their bad thoughts and questions will not be be so easily aroused.
"When people who have bad thoughts think about wrong things, under the strong effect of your field they might change their thinking, they might stop having bad thoughts for the time being. Maybe someone wants to badmouth somebody, but out of the blue he changes his mind and doesn't want to talk badly about him anymore. Only the energy field from cultivating a true teaching can have this effect. That's why there used to be a saying in Buddhism, "Buddha's light shines everywhere, propriety and righteousness harmonize everything." (Zhuan Falun)
In the very beginning, I felt reluctant to make phone calls because it was a big xinxing (moral character, heart or mind nature) test. In comparison to this, it is much easier to send articles over the Internet. Often during this period of time, I would face great obstacles in going to the Internet. I discovered later that sending articles over the Internet for several hours was not better than making several phone calls. Even though sending the article is easier, there are fewer xinxing tests, and it is not easy to expose my own xinxing problems. In addition, the articles that I sent may not have been taken seriously by the readers. Making the phone calls is different and will achieve very good results. For example, if we make phone calls to the countryside, the conversation from this single phone call will spread around the whole area. If we clearly clarify the truth, the effect can be great.
Making phone calls can also touch many places that the Internet fails to touch. Nowadays, almost every household in China has their own telephone. If we have more practitioners making phone calls, we can quickly reach many people. Recently, when we called the residents, we found that many of them still did not know the truth. Everyone can actually make phone calls. There are no restrictions on time and location. When we are free for several minutes, we can make a phone call.
Making phone calls can also make us cultivate diligently, because the effect of making phone calls is closely related to the state of our cultivation. I found that when I was not diligent in cultivation, the effect of calling was far from desirable. Sometimes, when I called after I just got out of bed, the effect was not good either. When I finished the exercises and sending forth righteous thoughts, I felt much more confident. Of course, it is very important to study the Fa well. If we do not study the Fa well, we will not have strong righteous thoughts, and we cannot even pick up the phone. "Your righteous thoughts and everything you accomplish come from the Fa, so no matter how busy you are, don't neglect Fa-study". (Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.) "When you do well in the Fa-rectification, I can see that it's always because you are able to understand the Fa from the Fa; and when you do somewhat poorly, I can see that it's because you aren't making a priority of Fa-study and you aren't able to understand the Fa from the Fa." It is most important that we keep calling. Because the realm of our cultivation is endless, our constant efforts in calling will help us to break through in our cultivation levels constantly. If we do a good job in calling and then relax our efforts, it would be difficult to pick up the phone again. Since our attachments are removed one layer after another, when we remove one layer, we still have many layers left. If we relax, the layers remaining will get harder and harder to get rid of. When we keep up our efforts in calling, we are more and more determine in Dafa, and it is actually a more comprehensive test for our xinxing.
