Dafa Practitioner Mr. Tan Chengqiang Dies from Brutal Force-feeding at the No. 2 Detention Center in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province

(Clearwisdom.net July 29) In May 2003, Dafa practitioner Mr. Tan Chengqiang from Handian Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province was arrested. The perpetrators were the village head and the people from the local "610 Office"*, who sent him to the No. 2 Detention Center. During the detention he was brutally force-fed, which resulted in pleurisy and complications in his lungs. He passed away on July 19, 2003. Following are the details.

In August 1999, Tan Chengqiang went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa and was detained for 15 days. He went to Beijing again in October of the same year and was sent to the Yimianpo Labor Camp, where he was detained for two years. On May 18, 2003, village head Wang Hongsheng and villager Liu Hongguo reported him when he was clarifying the truth to people. Thugs from the "610 Office" arrested and sent him to the No. 2 Detention Center. Tan Chengqiang held a hunger strike during detention to protest the evil's persecution. Police officers brutally force-fed him. He was sent to a hospital when he was on the verge of death. They diagnosed him as suffering from complications arising from liquids filling up his lungs. At this time, the "610 Office" authorities notified his family to take him home. Even then, village head Wang Hongsheng said to him, "We'll detain you again when you get a little better."

Tan Chengqiang passed away at 10:00 p.m. on July 19, 2003, mere days after he returned home.

*The 610 Office is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political or judicial systems.
