Ms. Wu Caili is an elementary school teacher. Since she remains committed to
her belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance," the Education
Bureau of Shahe City in Hebei Province suspended her job without explanation.
The officials from the Bureau also frequently harass her at her home. They tried
to force her through deceptive means to write a pledge to discontinue her
practice of Falun Gong but she refused. On August 8, 2003, officials from the
Education Bureau colluded with officials from the "610" Office* to
detain her in the Xingtai City Brainwashing Class. The Director of the Education
Bureau Office, Liu Pingyuan, deceived her family by telling them that she would
be allowed to go back to work once she wrote the pledge.
