New Jersey State Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula Urges President Bush to Take the Strongest Action Possible to Rescue Charles Li
(Clearwisdom.net) New Jersey General Assembly September 8, 2003 To: President George W. Bush, Secretary of State Colin L.
Powell, United States Congress, U.S. Ambassador Clark T. Randt, Jr. We, United States government officials at various levels, are
extremely concerned about our fellow American, Dr. Charles Lee. of Menlo Park,
California who has been detained in China for over 6 months. Dr. Lee was arrested as soon as he got off the plane at the
Guangzhou Airport on January 22, 2003. He was later rushed through a one day
show trial and sentenced to a 3-year prison term for his "intention"
to expose the human rights violation suffered by the Falun Gong practitioners in
China. More and more evidence reveals that Dr. Lee has been mentally
and physically abused, and the persecution is escalating. Besides Dr. Lee, the family members and loved ones of dozens
of U.S. citizens and residence are also in labor camps facing torture at this
very moment simply because they are practitioners of Falun Gong. We urge you to take the strongest action possible to rescue
Dr. Lee and call for release of the US f members. We must defend the founding
principles of this country: freedom and justice for all. Sincerely, Upendra J. Chivukula Assemblyman D-17 cc: Chinese President
