UK Human Rights Groups and Public Support Practitioners' Family Rescue Campaign
(Clearwisdom.net, September 16, 2003) In recent weeks, UK Falun Gong practitioners have
received many completed petition forms from British people and human rights groups, in support for
their campaign to free family members and friends who have been incarcerated in China, usually
without any trial, for exercising their rights of freedom of belief and speech. The petition forms arrive full of signatures from regions as diverse as Glasgow, Manchester,
Birmingham, and Cumbria. Mrs. Brotherton from Worcestershire commented on the incarcerations: "It really is awful,
let's hope this petition makes the authorities examine their consciences." A Lancashire based Amnesty International group collected over 120 signatures. The group's
representative said in her letter "We had an Amnesty stall at our local Gala and our group
agreed to use your petition...We were very pleased to be of help to you and send you all our very
best wishes."
