Radio Free Asia: Falun Gong Practitioners file a Lawsuit Against Luo Gan in Finland
(Clearwisdom.net, September 16, 2003) On the September 11, Radio Free Asia reported that
one of the heads of China's "610 Office," Luo Gan, who is primarily responsible for the
persecution of Falun Gong, would be prosecuted in Finland. On the same day, local Falun Gong
practitioners filed a lawsuit with the police department and the Prosecutor's Office accusing the
"610 Office," headed by Luo Gan, of persecuting Falun Gong. The report pointed out that Finland is Luo Gan's second stop on his visit to Europe, and it is
also the second time he has faced a lawsuit that was filed by Falun Gong practitioners during his
current visit to Europe. Last Monday, Icelandic Falun Gong practitioners filed a lawsuit with an
Icelandic court to sue Luo Gan for conducting the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Luo Gan
arrived in Finland on Thursday, and the Finnish Falun Dafa Association submitted a lawsuit to the
police department and the Prosecutor's Office in the morning of the same day. A Finnish Prosecutor,
Ms. Raija Toidiainen, confirmed that competent authorities are in the process of dealing with the
lawsuit. According to a local Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Wang, the Finnish Prosecutor's Office revealed
that they are under pressure from Chinese authorities. She added that a renowned local human right
lawyer Erkki Kannsto, who was entrusted by the Finnish Falun Dafa Association, filed the lawsuit.
Two Australian Falun Gong practitioners are also participating in the campaign. She added that Luo Gan, a member of the Chinese government's Politburo Standing Committee, is the
real head of the "610 Office," an organization responsible for the persecution of Falun
Gong in China. He should take legal responsibility for the death of more than seven hundred Falun
Gong practitioners and the illegal imprisonment and cruel torture of tens of thousands of Falun Gong
practitioners in China. Luo Gan was scheduled to visit Finland for two days, and is to depart from Finland on Friday,
heading for his next stop on his current European visit. Posting date: 9/16/2003
