I was shocked upon hearing that fellow practitioner Mr. Bai Xiaojun from the Northeastern Normal University died from persecution. I felt great sorrow and grief. I myself didn't know Mr. Bai Xiaojun, but I heard his story from a criminal inmate.

It was the summer of 2002 when I was illegally detained in the 1^st Detention Center of Changchun City (also called Tiebei Prison). One day, a 30+ years old inmate (just call him JIA here) arrived at the labor camp. Quickly he established good relations with other criminal inmates. From their conversation, I got to know that JIA was a collaborator.

One afternoon, I sat in the lotus position and sent forth righteous thoughts in the cell as usual. The inmate who was the "Assistant Head" of the cell who was said to be a famous hooligan in Changchun City ordered JIA to stop me from sending forth righteous thoughts. But JIA just touched me slightly with his hands. I ignored it and continued sending forth righteous thoughts. The "Assistant Head" asked JIA to take more serious actions but JIA did not obey and said, "I don't want to bother them. I've had lots of contact with Falun Gong practitioners." Later JIA told that he was once in the same team with Mr. Bai Xiaojun when Mr. Bai was detained in Weizigou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun. He also knew of the reporter Feng Liping, who was a Dafa practitioner and many other Dafa practitioners who were very successful in their careers.

According to JIA, at that time, Mr. Bai had scabies all over his body and you could see some of his bones were breaking through his skin. He was supposed to be on medical bail but the forced labor camp wouldn't let him go to receive treatment. It was unimaginable how much suffering Mr. Bai had to endure physically and mentally. As JIA talked about Dafa practitioners, he showed a lot of respect. He said that he had got along well with several Falun Gong practitioners so he did not want to do anything bad toward any Falun Gong practitioners.

On another day, the "Assistant Head" kept interrupting my sending forth righteous thoughts and ordered another inmate to kick me. He then tried to stop me from sending forth righteous thoughts directly. I thought about the principle of "Beyond the Limits of Forbearance" (Essentials for Further Advancement II) and used wisdom and courage to denounce his act in front of everyone in the cell through debating with him. At last the "Assistant Head" lost his viciousness. And the "Head" of the cell said that the "Assistant Head" lost badly in the battle of reasoning. Then JIA followed by speaking out his comments, "Falun Gong practitioners are not normal people. In Weizigou Forced Labor Camp, Bai Xiaojun from the Northeastern Normal University was a very talented man. He had practiced Falun Gong for many years and nobody could make him give up his beliefs. Once a prosecutor debated with him for a whole morning and eventually was left with nothing to argue."

Mr. Bai Xiaojun endured great suffering and passed away with the compassion that he cultivated from Falun Dafa, he had no resentment, and no hatred. He is awakening people from the harm of the deceptive lies told by Jiang Zemin's regime and making clear to all people the preciousness of returning to one's original true nature by walking on the path of "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance."
