On September 3, 2003, officers from the "610 office" [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. They have absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches] of the Yilan Coal Mine tried to send Dafa practitioner, Mr. Gong Fengqiang, into the Shuangcheng Brainwashing Center. Gong escaped with his righteous thoughts, but was unable to safely return home. At 6 pm on September 3, these same officers forcibly sent Dafa practitioner, Ms. Wen Zhifang, to the Shuangchen Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Xie Yanxin, a 68-year-old engineer, was detained by the Zhenxing Police Station at the Liaohe Oil Field on August 19, 2003 when delivering Dafa truth-clarifying video CDs on the streets. Since August 28, she has been going on a hunger strike in the Bohai Detention Center. She is currently very weak and unable to even stand.

On September 2, 2003, Mr. Wang Chende disappeared when picking up deposits from his landlord. Signals showed that he had been arrested by police officers. On June 18, 2003, head Wang Fucheng and deputy head Zhang Xiwen of the Political and Security Section of Suizhong County arrested Wang and sent him to Huludao Forced Labor Camp. However, the camp rejected him since he did not pass the physical examination. After going home, Wang Fucheng went to Wang Chende's home once again and attempted to arrest him, Wang Chende was forced to leave home.

Ms. Chen Suxiang is approximately 40 years old. She is the director of the department of gynecology and obstetrics at the Wuyi County Hospital. Since she firmly believes in Dafa, she was arrested and is detained at Shijiazhuang City.

Ms. Meng Junluo is from Zhaoquan Township, Taocheng District of Hengshui City. She was arrested in Spring of 2003 for clarifying the truth of Dafa to people and was later sent to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp at Baoding City. When her family went to visit her, the camp forced her family members to sign a form to defame Dafa and its founder, otherwise visits are prohibited. The guards of the camp said that many Dafa practitioners are detained in the camp.

Ms. Xu Yanxiang suffered endless tortures at the 4^th Brigade of the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp. She recovered from the confused state of being brainwashed. Her husband Zhang Ruifeng (just released on June 22 after being illegally detained at the Fengnan Jail) and her daughter went to visit her twice but were denied by police officers both times. In July, Xu was transferred to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp. Her current situation is unknown.

In recent days, Nanchong City opened a Brainwashing Session in the suburbs. Some Dafa practitioners from Nanbu County have been sent there.
