By an Overseas Practitioner

It is supposedly a routine matter to rotate diplomats. The Chinese general consulate in one big foreign city had a new general consul and two new deputy general consuls. Even the deputy consul in charge of the media was also new. It was like having a whole new Cabinet. However, as soon as the new diplomats arrived, they started meeting with people non-stop. They visited the deputy mayor, local police officials and local Chinese media and participated in all kinds of activities in the Chinese community.

Scene #1: In October 2002, Falun Gong practitioners sued Jiang Zemin for "genocide" and "crimes against humanity." Jiang wanted a stop to the lawsuit at any expense. Now, there is a wave of lawsuits against Jiang all over the world. Jiang is scared. The big city mentioned above has great international influence. The practitioners in the city were also actively involved in the lawsuit against Jiang. Right at that moment, the general consulate in that city went through a big change.

Scene #2: It is similar to the incidents in which Chinese diplomats tried in private to put pressure on the 38 US Congress members who upheld justice in the lawsuit to bring Jiang to justice in the US. Many congress members and government officials, even the leader of the nation mentioned above had given moral support to the persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. Upon assuming their duties, this batch of Chinese diplomats delivered large amounts of propaganda material slandering Falun Gong to the local officials and members of congress. Currently, the practitioners in that city are cooperating with "The World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" to investigate whether those Chinese diplomats' activities violated the law of that country.

Scene #3: The officials of the Chinese Consulate made appointments and met with high-ranking officials from the police department in this city. Soon after the meeting, the police received several complaints from the "residents" around the consulate saying Falun Gong practitioners were interfering with local residents. But the fact is, Falun Gong practitioners never interfered with the lives of the nearby residents. They had been holding peaceful appeals in front of the Chinese consulate for three years and many righteous residents and passersby had given the practitioners great sympathy and support.

Scene #4: When practitioners gathered for the May 13 Falun Dafa Day celebration parade, they found a wallet that belonged to a consul of the Chinese general consulate in this city. When the practitioner returned the wallet to the owner through the police, the consul said that he was there just for his personal interest and not to monitor the event.

All of the above scenes make people recall the many instances of sabotage the general consulate has committed against Falun Gong practitioners before this batch of new diplomats came. For instance, they made threatening phone calls to the Falun Gong practitioners who were actively involved in exposing the evil persecution. They also pressured the Chinese media to publish articles to slander Falun Gong. There were also dozens of instances of people taking pictures and videotaping Falun Gong practitioners in a threatening way, including sticking a camera just inches away from the face of a practitioner who was meditating. Several Falun Gong practitioners' cars had their tires slashed and wheels damaged. Once, a set of 4 tires was punctured with over 30 holes and the tires were completely destroyed. Windows were broken on practitioners' cars. Female practitioners were followed. The consulate instigated some Chinese community members to hold meetings to "criticize" Falun Gong and incited people to push and curse Falun Gong practitioners in the open-to-the-public meetings. A reporter photographed this incident.

Actually, the public all understands that such tactics of harassment and defamation are useless in a free country. However in some local areas, the criminal acts by the Chinese diplomats against good people interfered with our mission of clarifying the truth and saving people. Every overseas practitioner should recognize this, especially at the present time, when the efforts to bring Jiang to justice are going on all over the world. Since this action hit the fatal spot of the evil forces, the dying "snake" sometimes can still "bite people."

We should clearly understand what the evil forces mean by saying, "eliminate Falun Gong at any expense." Right now, the evil forces are strengthening the resources of consulates abroad, coercing and threatening diplomats to carry out their plan of deceiving people and persecuting Falun Gong. If we view this as part of the "spare no expense" attitude, we will not treat it lightly. At the same time, we have seen that it is a great opportunity to clarify the truth to all levels of government officials, congressmen, media and people from all walks of life.

Certainly, we think those officials at the Chinese Embassy and Consulates are victims themselves. They are deceived, too. There are quite a lot of nice people among them. Some officials who know the truth have praised Falun Gong practitioners in private. Those people who are Chinese diplomats during this time surely have their sorrow and difficulties. They want to dedicate themselves to the service of their motherland but can find no honest way to do so. Under pressure, many people choose to suppress innocent people and do things to increase the persecution for the temporary financial benefit and status of rank.

Whereas, when we Dafa practitioners who practice "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" clarify the truth to Chinese people, we hold compassion in our hearts and tell them the truth about Falun Gong. We hope they are able to see the trend of history and not fall down to the depths that Jiang Zemin has fallen to at the last moment.

We advise those Chinese diplomats during this period to have a kind heart and not oppose "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance". For your own futures as well as that of the Chinese people who pay the taxes that support you, please stay with your conscience and take care of these matters properly.
