Dallas: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Perform at Mid-Autumn Festival (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net, September 16, 2003) Falun Gong practitioners in Dallas, Texas were invited by the Chinese American Chamber of Commerce to the annual traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. They brought the beauty of Dafa to all the Chinese and westerners at the celebration.

The activities were held in Haltom from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 13. Organizations from other Asian countries also gave their traditional performances. Falun Gong practitioners set up a booth in the hall to give out truth-clarification materials and to play Teacher's exercise demo. In addition, the performance that the practitioners had prepared for this celebration was warmly welcomed by all.

The performances that the practitioners gave included a violin solo, solo dance, group dance, chorus performances and exercise demo. On seeing the practitioners preparing for their performance, many people asked, "What time is your performance? I will be there!" The three chorus songs were "On the Way Home," "Strange Things," and "Falun Dafa Is Great." The beautiful music won enthusiastic applause. An elderly Caucasian woman asked a practitioner who was sitting among the audience, "What is the meaning of í Falun Dafa Hao', as repeated in the song? Why do they emphasize it?" The practitioner explained to her about the benefits of Falun Dafa and the persecution in China. The practitioner went on, "Many people have been arrested, beaten and thrown into jails. Many lost their lives." The woman then said, "Looks like this is a very important sentence. I have to remember it!"

The practitioners created their dance to the traditional music, "Moon-lit River in Spring." Their graceful dance and waving ribbons attracted attention and won applause from the audience. A female practitioner gave a solo dance of "Eastern Mermaid" and "Peacock Dance." People were amazed by the practitioners' outstanding talent. Finally, ten practitioners, including a man in his 70s and a teenager, gave a graceful and smooth exercise demo, telling people that Falun Gong is for people of all ages. Their movements were well synchronized and peaceful to the recorded instruction by Teacher. Many people accepted our truth-clarification materials. Some asked us where they could learn Falun Gong. Some employees at the activity took pictures with our practitioners.

At the end of the program, the sponsors of this activity expressed their appreciation for Falun Gong practitioners' support and their excellent performances. He said he admired Falun Gong practitioners' spirit of unselfishness.
