Persecution Cases of Falun Gong in Qingdao City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) On July 15, 2003, the Beifen Bureau Director of Qingdao City, leading a group of police, broke into a practitioner's house. They abducted a mother and her daughter, Ms. Zhang Ruiying and Ms. Su Yanli,as well as Mr. Zhang Lisong, Ms. Zhang Ruiying's brother, Ms. Yuan Chunju, and Zhang Lisong's wife.

The police confiscated all the Falun Dafa books, truth-clarifying materials and 13,000 Yuan [the average monthly income of an urban worker in China is 500 Yuan] from the two families. Ms. Zhang Ruiying's husband and son, who are not practitioners, were interrogated and later released. The police sentenced the practitioners after they had already been held for a month.

In the spring of 2000, Yuan Chunju was sentenced to 3 years in a forced labor camp, and she was released in 2002 just before the Chinese New Year. Zhang Ruiying's home phone: 86-532-5036183.

In addition, Qingdao City has experienced four previous incidents.

A 26-year-old Dafa practitioner, Ms. Zhang Li, who holds a bachelor's degree from Qingdao Chemical Engineering Institute, and Ms. Wang Lanxiang, 27 years old, were arrested in August 2001. Now Zhang Li is detained in Jinan City's Drug Abstention Institute, and Wang Lanxiang has been sentenced to 3 years in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

Dafa practitioner, Ms Li Yanling and her mother-in-law Dr. Han were arrested while they were distributing truth-clarifying materials in 2002. Li Yanling was sentenced to 2 years in a forced labor camp, and Dr. Han was sentenced to one and half years in a forced labor camp.
