Dafa Practitioners Participate in City Parade in Newark, California (Photos)

On September 20, a bright, sunny Saturday, the city of Newark in Northern California held its annual parade to celebrate its City Day. This is its 48^th parade and it is the fourth time that Falun Gong practitioners have participated in the last four years. More than 100 groups/organizations participated in this parade, and Falun Gong was the only Chinese group.

The Falun Gong practitioners' procession proceeded in good order. In the very front, practitioners held two big banners that read "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness Compassion Forbearance" in both Chinese and English. Behind the banners, the two dance teams followed. Their delightful dancing and brightly colored costumes were a real treat for the audience. Then came the Falun Gong exercise procession. The practitioners' yellow exercise uniforms were very striking, and their slow and graceful exercise movements won applause from the audience.

The parade attracted more than ten thousand people, and all of the materials that the practitioners brought were handed out. Many onlookers actually took the initiative to ask for Dafa materials. One Chinese gentleman told a practitioner: "I didn't know that you have such beautiful dancing and attire."
