Why Did Xinhua Net Delete the Report on the Jiang Lawsuit?

(Clearwisdom.net) September 18th report: Xinhua Net "publicizes" Jiang lawsuit, then regretted their slip of tongue and deleted the report.

At first, Xinhua Net intentionally concealed the important lawsuit filed by Falun Gong practitioners against Jiang Zemin. When the district judge in Illinois recently decided to dismiss the case, Xinhua Net couldn't wait to publish a report, but the report contained obscure words and was very confusing. After reading it, many people in China said in an online chat room, "Why didn't they report this at the time of the lawsuit?" "Which government leader is being sued?" "They should show us the original lawsuit and the complete picture! What happened? Why the lawsuit? We should know everything about the truth!" "If there was no court verdict, how can you call the lawsuit 'slander'?"

Although the judge made the wrong decision when he dismissed the case, he did not find that Jiang was not responsible for the persecution, or that the persecution was correct. The judge's decision was based on technicalities such as the tie between the 610 Office and the state of Illinois. The judge did not comment that Jiang Zemin and "610 Office" were innocent. Xinhua Net repeatedly used the word "slander," but it didn't have the courage to confront the charges against Jiang pressed by overseas Falun Gong practitioners. The use of the word "slander" is the true slander towards Falun Gong practitioners.

For such a significant event, Xinhua Net doesn't even tell people who the defendant is, not to mention the details of the lawsuit itself and the true situation. This is against the most basic ethics of professional journalism. Xinhua Net is supported by taxpayers' money, yet it repeatedly deceives people and deprives them of their right to know.

In fact, this case is far from over. The plaintiffs have decided to take further legal actions, including an appeal and an amendment to the lawsuit. At the same time, lawsuits against Jiang are being filed in other countries. The sword of justice is still hanging over Jiang's head.

Although Xinhua News Agency actively distorted the reporting of this news in a subjective manner, it still revealed the existence of the lawsuit against Jiang Zemin to the people of China. After the news was published, Xinhua News Agency quickly realized it made a foolish mistake and didn't carry out its "job" of "fooling the people and depriving them of their right to know." In order to make up for it, Xinhua Net quickly deleted the report, which further proves its lack of professional standards.
