(Clearwisdom.net) The judge in the U.S. Federal District Court in Chicago dismissed a lawsuit that practitioners had filed against Jiang. Our lawyers are now amending the court petition so that it will reflect more completely the truth of the matter as we move forward through the appeal process. Below are some personal understandings. We hope this can bring up valuable opinions and discussion.

The judge's ruling is a reflection of the overall state of Dafa practitioners. Thinking carefully, the current ruling is not really a surprise. The existing petition was drafted a year ago. Although written by lawyers and practitioners, it only reflected the extent of practitioners' understanding, care and attention as a whole body at that time. The lawsuit has proceeded through a year of trials and hardships, during which our understanding of the Fa and the persecution has changed and improved a great deal.

We should take the opportunity of making amendments to the petition to comprehensively re-assess our understanding of the Jiang lawsuit, and to help our lawyers to write a petition superior to all of our previous understandings, so that it becomes a powerful weapon to further clarify the truth and expose the evil.

For most practitioners, although we aren't directly involved in specific details of the legal work, our understanding of the lawsuit and the overall Fa-rectification process truly plays a decisive role. This is because our lawsuit is not an ordinary case. Its real driving force comes from our righteous thoughts. The judge's ruling is only a true reflection of Dafa practitioners' overall state.

At this time, it is not only the lawsuit filed in the United States against Jiang that faces challenge. The lawsuits against Jiang in other countries more or less face a similar situation. If we can break through the limitations of our previous understanding, the manifestation in the human world can change accordingly.

Here are some practitioners' understandings. This article was prepared in a rush and might not be comprehensive in terms of the understandings presented. The lawsuit must be amended this week, so we have written it up quickly to exchange insights with practitioners all around the world and in hopes of attracting valuable opinions and to facilitate discussion. We will try to revise and improve it as soon as possible.

Conclusions: The decision to persecute was made solely and directly by Jiang himself. What he did was beyond his power as granted by the law. It was his own personal conduct, and he must be held personally accountable for it. The ability of one single person to mobilize the machinery of the whole country is a shortcoming of the CCP system, as well as the arrangement of the old forces.

Conclusions: after launching such a large-scale attack on Falun Gong, Jiang has not only participated in the oppression himself, but has also directly driven and led such persecution with all his strength. Many things he has done during the persecution are not actions that a national leader is normally supposed to do. On the contrary, they were personally motivated behavior. Every person must be responsible for his or her own conduct. Jiang is no exception. Immunity as a head-of-state cannot extend to include those actions that are beyond the leader's authority.

Jiang's younger son, Jiang Miankang, suddenly entered the Chinese Army. Beginning as a bureau head within the Organizational Department (personnel department) of the General Political Department in the People's Liberation Army, he was rapidly promoted to Deputy Head of the Organizational Department, and the controlling authority over personnel assignments and transfers.

Jiang does not recognize his true father (who had a bad reputation in China), so he adopted a so-called "foster father." This man's daughter, Jiang's "foster-sister" as it were, Jiang Zehui, enjoyed a rapid succession of promotions up through the ranks to her present ministry level. Jiang Zehui, a rank-and-file professor at the Anhui Agricultural University, was first promoted to Dean of the School of Forestry, then to President of the university, and finally became China's Minister of Forestry.

The Jiang family's privileges and benefits are a direct result of Jiang Zemin's power. Jiang's family members gained various benefit from suppressing Falun Gong. They, in turn, used these powerful positions to further suppress Falun Gong with more leverage. For example, Jiang's son controlled the information industry and then utilized the resources at his disposal to block the flow of information via the Internet.

Conclusions: Jiang sacrificed the greater interests of the people and the country to suppress Falun Gong and build his personal power. Government resources were used as the private tools of Jiang's family. Jiang, his relatives and friends greatly benefited from the persecution of Falun Gong, especially economically.

Some people might feel that while Jiang is a ruthless dictator, he only killed a few hundred or a few thousand Falun Gong practitioners, far fewer victims than died in other massacres of contemporary history. However, a few points will illustrate the severity of this persecution.

Conclusions: Jiang's persecution against Falun Gong tramples on human beings' justice and conscience. What he persecutes is morality, dignity, and self-confidence, things that humans depend on for their existence. Thus, it is a crime against all humanity, in addition to being the most evil crime in history.

During the last four years, plenty of first-hand information and related discussions have been accumulated over the Internet. It is suggested that every Dafa practitioner calm down, clear up his own thoughts, and recognize what level his understanding is at in regards to these questions, because, this determines the overall situation. Only after our overall status reaches a certain level will the evil factors in other dimensions lose ground, and the matters that Dafa practitioners are supposed to complete will be successful as conditions ripen.

The record listed above is not complete but is an explanation of the author's point of view, along with those facts that everyone is aware of. The author believes that other practitioners and people in society will uncover more and detailed firsthand information. This will be the evidence used in court, and will play an active role in the grand trial of the evil head.

The author found that there is an error zone in the lawsuit against Jiang. Everyone knows that the persecution was initiated by Jiang himself; however, because of an unclear understanding about the execution of persecution and the evil nature in the past four years, sometimes practitioners just focused on individual cases but failed to view the overall situation. What the unclear understanding reflects in society is that the public is not clear about the severity of the evil perscution and that the judge is not clear about Jiang's immuity as a head of state.

Actually, Jiang, to persecute Falun Gong, is manipulating China's government as a tool. Jiang and his associates abuse the government of China to commit the most heinous and gross crimes. The Chinese government and its 1.3 billion people are seemingly kidnapped, being coerced into committing crimes under intimidation.

The exposure of Jiang's crimes and bringing him to justice in the courts of the human world promote mankind's justice. They also serve to salvage hundreds of millions of Chinese people. For this trial, all kind-hearted people are the plaintiffs. This unprecedented trial will have kind-hearted people regaining their self-confidence and dignity and let people see the hope and glory of life. Thus, this trial is very important for each living being who is a particle in the boundless cosmos. So how can they be absent in such a grand trial against evil?

It is time to expose Jiang from hiding in the background (the country, the regime) because nothing can cover his monstrous crimes. Each living being must see all the evil that he has committed.

All Dafa practitioners with righteous thoughts and clear understanding will lead everyday people to walk out of the dense fog, and complete the historic trial.

The focus of this article is on different aspects of cultivation. We should follow the Fa and look inwardly more often to understand clearly from the Fa that the old cosmos's principles are negatively affecting our validating the Fa, to continue to break away from the state of being in tribulations referred to in "Expounding on the Fa," and to enable ourselves to constantly strive forward so as to lessen the possibility for creating losses.

Recently, through Fa-study and cultivation, I've enlightened to the following: the fundamental Buddha nature of the old cosmos, the new cosmos and all beings inside them, is the Dafa of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance"--this is common to all. This is the basic reason why during this present historic time, elements of the old cosmos are still salvageable. Our Fa-rectification is supposedly based on this standpoint-- to continually inspire and enlighten all beings in the old cosmos of their fundamental Buddha nature. When we validate the Fa, send righteous thoughts and clarify the truth, this should also be our foundation.

However, this is the first time the Fa has been rectified since the creation of heaven and earth. In any period of the old cosmos where there was no such concept of the "Fa-rectification", the old cosmos's principles were inharmonious to formation, stasis, degeneration and destruction. The reason why the old cosmos has created such a huge interference and damage for today's Fa-rectification is also attributed to the inharmonious and imperfect factors of the old cosmos's principles, including the development of the old forces. Judging from this, the Fa-rectification cannot acknowledge the development of the old cosmos' history. In the present time, which has been created in the old cosmos history, all elements that are not good for validating the Fa which were created by the old cosmos's principles and the elements Dafa practitioners themselves have formed in the old cosmos are all something that we need to reject.

In terms of Fa-rectification cultivation, we should continue to break out from the restriction of the old cosmos's principles. As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, we should use the new cosmos's principles taught by our Teacher to break through the side of us restricted by the old cosmos's principles. Every time our main bodies in the human world advance one step in the Fa, realize and eliminate some attachments or concepts, a portion of the old cosmos correspondingly assimilates into the new cosmos, until we reach a more perfect and pure realm. Teacher is balancing everything.

We have seen the side of the old cosmos that safeguards itself and the old cosmos's principles amidst the Fa-rectification. For instance, with regard to the case to bring Jiang to justice, no matter how a country or an individual appears to support Dafa on the surface, their various political and personal causes all have elements of the old cosmos's principles, and they are also safeguarding the so-called "order and interests" of the old cosmos and safeguarding the old cosmos's form and Gods. From the standpoint of the Fa-rectification, this is selfish, and this is a huge obstacle for the Fa-rectification.

Then, does there exist a side of Dafa practitioners that safeguards the self and the old cosmos's principles? This is definitely the case. Were it not for this restriction, we would make improvements in the Fa very quickly, and we would be in the state of constantly striving forward diligently. It is those notions that we formed in the old cosmos that makes it difficult for us to advance forward. Judging from "Expounding on the Fa", our failure to strive forward diligently is the result of an inadequate understanding of the Fa by our human side during this period or in this environment. The old cosmos' Fa is obstructing us and leaving us in tribulations, at loss or in a non-diligent state. The karma Dafa practitioners have accumulated in the old cosmos' history and all sorts of degenerate elements are interconnected with the degenerate elements of the entire old cosmos.

In "Teaching the Fa at the Discussion on Creating Fine Art", Teacher brought up an even higher standard for our Fa-rectification cultivation. With regard to Dafa practitioners' Fa-validation concerning both internal and external aspects, Dafa requires what we do to be the best, the most beautiful and the most harmonious. It is like creating a work of art: in order to reach a more perfect level, it requires a solid foundation of basic techniques, putting a lot of care into it, plus a perfect idea and mature creative techniques. Moreover, this kind of pursuit is limitless in realm. Then, as Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, shouldn't we accomplish a "fine art of creation" as perfect as that--a perfect cosmos? That's definitely true. The creation of the new cosmos definitely requires us to reach the most artistic, perfect realm, and from the standpoint of the Fa-principles, it should be the most perfect, indestructible, clear and specific. In our day-to-day cultivation, is our foundation solid? For all of our thoughts or actions, and every effort we make to validate the Fa, Dafa requires us to reach a perfect and harmonious realm. How well have we done this?

Humanly making a certain thing be the focus of Dafa work and neglecting completing and harmonizing things in the different aspects of Fa-validation is, of course, not permissible. The progress of the Fa-rectification is comprehensive, which includes the elevation of Dafa practitioners' understanding of the Fa, awakening more sentient beings and eliminating more degenerate elements in the old cosmos, and so on. The goal of Fa-rectification is to save the old cosmos' sentient beings. Jiang's being put on trial is accomplished naturally. If there're only a few areas in a piece of fine art that have been done well--how can this be good? That is the reason.

Looking from these angles, the case to bring Jiang to justice progresses as Fa-rectification Dafa disciples make improvements in Fa-study and cultivation. It requires us as a whole to do the three things Teacher has required us to do, study the Fa, send righteous thoughts and clarify the truth, all in a more harmonious manner.

Next, let's discuss how to eradicate the evil's persecution against Dafa practitioners.

Any place where the Fa-rectification has not reached, where our righteous thoughts have not reached, is a place where the old cosmos' Fa still takes effect. This is the main reason why the persecution has happened. The part of the Fa that is not pure and clean enough because it was created in the old cosmos' degenerate history, has had a negative effect on Teacher's Fa-rectification. From this standpoint, that part is also an "evil Fa". We can tell from the old, evil forces' arrangements and interference on the Fa-rectification. We can also tell from the evil forces' display of the "evil Fa" in the human world and their brutal violence against Dafa practitioners. With regard to this kind of history, the first thing is to reject it. We should disintegrate it with righteous thoughts from the origin of the creation of the "evil Fa" and old forces. For all persecution, be it big, small, established or not established, as soon as we are clearly aware of it, we should disintegrate it from the origin.

Amidst eliminating the persecution against us, the most important thing is to improve our understanding of the Fa-principles and improve ourselves in the different aspects of xinxing(moral character, heart or mind nature). Once we improve ourselves, many arrangements in the old cosmos naturally won't be able to continue to exist.

Clearly understanding the Fa is based on our firm belief in the Fa and Teacher. This becomes specifically clear through our constantly using the standard of the new cosmos' Fa to look inward.

Why is it that by believing firmly in Teacher and Dafa we will be able to eradicate the persecution? Think about it everyone. Doesn't believing firmly in Teacher and Dafa reject and eliminate the old cosmos' principles most fundamentally? Therefore, the bottom line for our making improvements and breaking through the old cosmos's principles is Teacher and Dafa.

Below are another two aspects through which we can look inward to eliminate the persecution: one is the objective environment, another is Dafa practitioners themselves. In these two aspects the negative elements formed by the old cosmos's Fa requires our analysis and understanding it clearly. When we are able to understand it clearly from the Fa-principles, the persecution will be over. This problem exists in different levels, different periods of time and different environments.

Firstly, it is not created by our own true self. It is created by the part of us that has not understood, has not cultivated well and is restricted by the old cosmos's principles. What that part is afraid of is precisely the old cosmos' "evil Fa". When we realize this clearly, it is then assimilated by the Fa. Other aspects of cultivation such as lust and showing off can also be understood from this standpoint. The standard of looking inward in Fa-rectification's is even higher. We cannot let it pass by and say, "This is showing off," or "This is being zealous." We still need to find the cause of these attachments. Perhaps, behind them there are very big factors or even something that affects a considerable gigantic colossal firmament. For example, on the human surface some attachments manifest, but looking from a high level, it is possible that this results from some cosmic bodies of a person having been restricted by the old cosmos's principles.

Dafa is the foundation of the cosmos. In "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. Fa Conference", Teacher also says:

The manifestation of the true Fa is something that we forever will not know. We can only try to be close to Dafa. From this standpoint, cultivation is limitless in realm and requires that we constantly be in a diligent state. From a small issue, to the boundless colossal firmament and the limitless, profound Fa, we all need to make a limitless pursuit of perfection in our cultivation. Teacher also points out:

The Fa guides us in our cultivation. Recently, because I've made improvement in my understanding of the Fa, the change this has made is huge. Here, I would like to suggest fellow practitioners to look deeper for the cause of not being diligent. During each period and in every environment, whenever you are not diligent enough, there must be reasons behind it, and it is possible that a certain area has been restricted by the old cosmos's principles. I hope everyone can continue to make breakthroughs. This is the state that should really be manifested in Fa-rectification cultivation. Otherwise, we are in the state of tribulations referred to in "Expounding on the Fa".

"Selfishness" penetrated my whole cultivation practice; recently I could see my selfishness in a lot of areas.

When encountering problems, I knew to look inside myself, but a lot of times I always stopped at blaming myself and still found an excuse for holding on to the remaining human attachments.

Sometimes a word from other people or an event touched my remaining attachments and shook my heart, causing me to become angry. I asked myself why my heart was trembling. I looked inside myself and found that I had some personal attachments. I had insisted on my personal opinion and wanted to gain some personal benefit from it.

I now realize that in the way I treated practitioners, a lot of times I used my own personal opinion to help practitioners enlighten, but I did not do this based on their viewpoint. I really did not take other practitioners' things as my personal things.

Sometimes I was trapped within the problems and my personal understanding. I would think about my personal loss and gain first and would immediately forget that I was a practitioner and I should seriously treat myself according to Dafa's standard.

In my actual cultivation process, I found that all of my thoughts and ideas were mixed with personal selfishness such as the need to truly cultivate myself, needing to validate Dafa, needing to study Fa, needing to keep improving, etc. Everything was all related to "me" and I did not really completely forget myself and assimilate with the Fa.

Actually, we do not have this "selfishness" in our original nature. But it is precisely because we are attached to our own self-interests that we get lost in the human world.

I know deeply that Dafa is solemn and every level has its own standard. During my cultivation process, I have been constantly removing "selfishness" at different levels. Every time when I get rid of one layer of selfishness, I always find another layer of selfishness that exists in another place. I realized that this "selfishness" had penetrated every layer of the old cosmos and it also caused the dissolution and degradation of the old cosmos.

"Selfishness" is like a lock that confines one's wisdom and ability. If selfishness exists, then the person will be occupied by their human notions and will pursue their individual self-interest. If one continues to get rid of selfishness, one will be able to continuously reach higher levels.

As a qualified Dafa practitioner, when encountering a problem, the first thing that should come to our minds should be Dafa. We should always think about others first and recall what Teacher has taught. If we can understand the problem based on Dafa and put down our own opinion and our self-interest, then we can be rectified by Dafa and completely get rid of our attachments.

We should just follow Teacher's words to do things. Teacher said in the article, "Non-omission in Buddha Nature" (in Essentials for Further Advancement),

On September 6, 2003 around 10 a.m., a Dafa materials preparation site in a city in Liaoning Province was playing a Falun Dafa truth-clarifying VCD. The sounds of the truth about Falun Dafa and beautiful music floated out from the open window on the top floor.

At this moment a few sparrows flew to the window to take a look. Another group came a few minutes later. This happened repeatedly every few minutes. In the end, a few dozen sparrows rested on the window ledge and the wire hanging in front of the window. They looked into the house and listened. Some even pecked at the window screen.

At that time, all three of us in the house saw the whole process. I opened the window on the balcony to see if the sparrows also rested on the window ledge of my neighbor. I saw that none of my neighbors had sparrows resting on their window ledges. This group of sparrows waited until the whole truth-clarifying VCD had finished playing before leaving. For about 15 minutes they perched on our window ledge to listen.

(Clearwidom.net) I am a Dafa practitioner in Sichuan province. Because I refused to give up my practice of Falun Dafa, I was abducted and sentenced to 2 years of forced labor by Sichuan police in November, 2001. I was detained at the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp. I was beaten and kicked by the policemen for practicing Dafa in the labor camp.

On April 25, 2003, I bore witness to policemen's brutal persecution of Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Yinfang. Ms. Zhu refused to give up practicing Dafa, and just as she started to practice the Falun Dafa exercises that day, she was spotted by a few prison guards. They started beating and kicking her. The beatings continued throughout the whole morning in the bedroom. At noon they dragged her to the middle of the yard in the labor camp and kept beating her there in front of everybody. After lunch, they dragged her to the bathroom to continue beating her. The severe abuse lasted for a whole day. On April 26, Ms. Zhu Yinfang died as a result of her injuries.

The Labor Camp's Doctor

(Clearwisdom.Net) Ms. Xiao Wenhong is a spokeswoman for the Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association. Wenhong's mother, 64-year-old Yue Changzhi is an electrical engineer from the Second Research Center of the Spaceflight Department and is also an artist. She was arrested again for practicing Falun Gong before the moon festival and detained in the Haidian District Detention Center In Beijing.

Ms. Yue Changzhi started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. Jiang's regime began to openly persecute Falun Gong practitioners on July 20, 1999. Because she persisted in practicing Falun Gong, she has been arrested 7 times and sent to mandatory brainwashing classes twice. Since October 2000 she has been forced to leave home. The Trade Union and Security Department of her former work unit as well as her original residence in the Haidian District Yongding Road Police Substation directly persecuted her and has not stopped in over 4 years.

She was arrested and detained during holidays. These detetions lasted from several days to several weeks. Not only was she forced to pay all the fees related to room and board during the detention, but she also had to pay a fee to be watched. Her former work unit often held meetings to criticize and denounce her, in an attempt to force her to give up practicing Falun Gong. The Trade Union also reduced her retirement pension from 1,300 to 200 Yuan in order to punish her financially. After Ms. Yue left home, the Security Department sent people to chase her down in the countryside of Shandong Province. They also broke into the U.S. company that her youngest daughter-- Xiao Haiying works in 3 times and asked the daughter to turn her mother in. In July 2003, Xiao Haiying was detained for 1 month by the National Security Bureau when visiting relatives in Hong Kong. This was another attempt to force her to turn her mother in.

Ms. Xiao Wenhong hasn't seen her mother and younger sister for 3 years. After Ms. Yue left home, friends have said that she had become very thin and her hair had turned white. Although Ms. Xiao Wenhong's sister has been bailed out for now, she has been dismissed from her job. They will keep her under surveillance for one year.

Because the persecution and brainwashing of Falun Gong practitioners in China has been so brutal, Ms. Xiao worries about her mother and sister's safety very much. Xiao Wenhong and other Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners all strongly request that the Chinese Government immediately release Xiao Wenhong's mother and other innocent Falun Gong practitioners who have been arrested.

Xin Baodong, a Dafa practitioner who lives in Nanguan Village, Juyang town, Sanhe City, Hebei Province, was illegally arrested and confined at the Sanhe City Public Security Department Detention Center. He was seriously injured by the police who assaulted him. The Hospital in that city refused to admit him and he was redirected to the People's Liberation Army of China Number 263 Hospital in Tongzhou, Beijing City where the doctor diagnosed that he had eight fractured ribs, a perforated eardrum, and severely impaired vision in his right eye. The ribs were fractured during nine days of continuous beatings. His chest cavity was filled with blood and fluid, which endangered his life. In the first couple of days after admission to the hospital, he was semi-conscious. The Assistant Head of the Department, Wang Weiyi and the Head of the Detention Center, part of the Public Security Bureau, Geng Desheng were the people responsible.

Because they were afraid that Xin Baodong would escape, four or five Public Security officers stood guard over him daily. For several days Xin Baodong persisted in his exercises and sending forth righteous thoughts. His body very rapidly recovered. After more than ten days, he was discharged from the hospital. The hospital refused to follow any procedures in the discharge. Since the Public Security Bureau paid the fees, the hospital would only deal with them.

During his stay at the hospital, his persecution was published by Minghui website (Clearwisdom.net), exposing the facts to the world.

After his discharge from the hospital, both Wang Weiyi and Geng Desheng produced a copy of a written agreement for Xin Baodong to duplicate. At this time they threatened that if he did not sign the agreement he would not be compensated. That he was not being compensated in accordance to the agreement need not be elaborated at this time; the more important issue is that Xin Baodong was deprived of his rights in the agreement to legally pursue the criminals who persecuted him. He was only provided with the fees of the hospital treatment and food. His release was attributed to his illness, as a cover up.

Early this year, the police wanted to arrest Xin Baodong again. Xin Baodong was in a shop when the fluorescent lamp suddenly exploded. After experiencing several tribulations, he sensed imminent danger and quickly left the premises. A few minutes later the police arrived but it was in vain.

The illegal persecution of Xin Baodong extended to his family members, relatives, neighbors and other persons. An elder sister and an elderly lady of more than seventy years of age who provided Xin Baodong assistance previously, were arrested and taken to the Public Security Bureau. The police went to their homes and illegally interrogated their family members.

Xin Baodong's son was purchasing some items at a shop when a bunch of plainclothes police rushed in and without any explanation and arrested everyone there. They were taken to the Public Security Bureau, interrogated, and their work units were contacted. Finally, the shoppers were released, but Xin Baodong's son was made to stand in the corridor till school was almost over, then he was allowed to go home. When he returned to the school, the teacher asked the child what happened and he described the event. The teacher cried and the child was also sobbing.

On the day Xin Baodong and Gao Shuying were arrested, Mr. Xin's elder sister and her husband arrived at Mr. Xin's home. The police, who were guarding Xin Baodong's house, detained them in the house for two days, and the police stayed there for several days. Their actions exerted immense pressure on the children and elders of Xin Baodong's family. The police searched the home several times to harass Xin Baodong's elder sister and were illegally trailing her. The police also went to search the homes and harass the relatives of Xin Baodong. The police illegally took the brother of Mr. Xin and his brother's wife to the Public Security Bureau for interrogations and ransacked their home. They even ransacked the homes of the villagers who had nothing to do with Xin Baodong.

During the period that Xin Baodong was in the forced labor camp at the end of 2000, Gao Shuying was illegally detained one day. She went on a hunger strike for seven or eight days and was then released. That morning at about 4 or 5 A.M., the composite administrative office supervisor of Juyang town, Shi Lijun, charged in with a group of people. The daughter of Gao Shuying blocked their entry, but they forcibly took away the child who was only wearing thin clothes. Several police rushed into Gao Shuying's bedroom before dawn, peeled away her blanket, dragged the extremely frail lady from her bed before she could get up from the bed and took her away. Her child was forced to stand barefoot facing the wall, on the extremely cold winter cement floor as punishment.

Every level of the Public Security Bureau exerted pressure under instructions by the Assistant Head of the Juyang Police Station, Ma Zhixing. The responsible government personnel were the Committee Members of Nanguan Village. The Director of the village, Feng Jianzhong often hung around Xin Baodong's home and intimidated his two children. Under such intense mental pressure, having to deal with school work as well as house chores and looking after the incapacitated grandfather and grandmother, they still managed to score good marks at their examinations to be promoted to senior middle school.

Xin Baodong and his wife endured extreme threats of brutal torment and devastation until both of them were forced to leave home to avoid persecution. The elderly mother of Xin Baodong, who was suffering from this immense injustice, could no longer withstand this extreme mental pressure and passed away.

On July 1^st 2003, the director of the "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) in Quzhou County, Handan City, Hebei Province, organized a massive search and seizure operation against Falun Gong practitioners in Chenyangu Village. Leading nearly one-hundred fully armed police and accompanied by Zhang Dongming, the Assistant Party Secretary of the Quzhou County, Chen Xibao, the Chief of the Quzhou Public Security Bureau, and Qiao Linghuai, the head of the Quzhou "610 Office," the Handan City "610 Office" director arrived at Houcun Town. Then with the help from Houcun Town Police Station Director Niu Mingtang and Assistant Director Li Bin, they drove to Chenyangu Village in 11 police vans and blocked every street entrance of the entire village. Armed with pistols, electric batons, and rubber clubs, the police and officials ordered everyone to stay in their homes and threatened to shoot anyone who disobeyed.

The police broke into and ransacked Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Fengling's home. Zhang and his wife were arrested, and the police confiscated their VCD player, two tape recorders, twenty Dafa tapes, twenty-two Dafa books and other related materials. It was 10:00 pm when they first entered the village and nearly 11:30 pm when they left.

The next day the police took Zhang Fengling's oldest son, Zhang Haipo, to the Houchun Town Police Station. When director Niu Mingtang and several other police interrogated him in an attempt to discover details about the truth clarification activities his parents were involved in, Zhang Haipo said: "I don't know anything about it." Later he was sent to the Quzhou Public Security Bureau. He was threatened and deceived there but did not give in, and was finally released later that night.

The Handan city "610 Office" interrogated Zhang Fengling and his wife, but they resisted the persecution and refused to answer their questions. When they went on a hunger strike for fifteen days to protest the illegal treatment, the police realized that they would not tell anything and had no choice but to send them back to the Houcun Town Police Station. Afterwards their family came and brought them home.

On July 31^st 2003, practitioner Li Meilian was arrested by police from the Huaiqiao Village Police Station while clarifying truth of Falun Gong and the persecution to the public. The police interrogated her for several hours and then sent her to the county's Public Security Bureau. She was transferred to an unidentified location afterwards. Ever since the Sixteenth Party's Congress in, the "610 Office" and Public Security Bureau in Quzhou County, and Huaiqiao Village Police Station, have tried many times to arrest Li Meilian.

I have to walk with crutches due to polio. In addition, later in life I developed severe heart disease, diabetes, rheumatism and a disease of the cervical vertebra in which they had become displaced and very painful. Since I obtained the Fa, I persisted in Fa study and practice, and upgraded my xinxing [mind nature; moral consciousness]. All these diseases which developed later went away and my family regained happiness.

After Jiang's political gang started persecuting Falun Dafa, I went to Beijing twice to validate the Fa.

On December 28, 1999, I had just arrived in Tiananmen Square and shouted from the bottom of my heart, "Falun Dafa is good", when two policemen dragged me into a vehicle and sent me to the detention center. Later, policemen from my city handcuffed me to the vehicle and took me back to my hometown. They then asked my family to pay 3,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] in exchange for my release. My family didn't have the money. Finally, it was my eighty-year-old father who collected 1,000 Yuan, sent it to the police station and begged them to release me. I was then released.

In October 2000, the village appointed two people to guard me around the clock, even when I went to the restroom. I lost my freedom. However, I was more determined than ever to go to Beijing to validate the Fa. Falun Dafa is miraculous. In the late afternoon of October 4, under the watch of those two people, I walked out on my crutches without being discovered. I took a taxi to Beijing. After I arrived in Tiananmen Square, I shouted out, "Falun Dafa is good". A few plain-clothes policemen surrounded me and grabbed my crutches and shoes. I had to sit on the floor. They also forbade me to use the restroom. Later, policemen from my city took me back, transported me to the detention center, and illegally detained me for 30 days, then another 15 days. I went on a hunger strike to protest this persecution. On the 34^th day, I was very weak. The policemen were afraid of taking responsibility for my life, so they forced my father to pay 300 Yuan for a meal and then released me. Actually, I didn't have any meal at all.

On December 27, 2000, policemen again dragged me, a handicapped person, from my home to a police vehicle and sent me to the detention center. In the detention center, policemen forbade Falun Gong practitioners' studying the Fa and practicing. They also forced us to write the so-called "Guarantee Statement" [A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.] to give up practicing Falun Gong. I went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. Thirteen days later, I was extremely weak, so they released me. However, one month later, before I was fully recovered, policemen again arrested me and sent me to the detention center. I went on a hunger strike for ten days and was at the edge of my life. They then notified my family members to take me home.

During these four years, because of the inhuman mental and physical persecution, plus the wet conditions in detention center, I had scabies all over my body and it was very itchy and painful. My healthy body became very weak and I eventually lost sight in both eyes. Due to my disability it was extremely difficult for me. However, when the "sensitive" days came, the policemen still came to my house often to harass me and brought great mental stress to my family members and me. During these four years, the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners conducted by Jiang's regime has been brutal. I'm accusing Jiang's political gang of inhuman persecution against Falun Dafa and Falun Dafa practitioners and I want to bring them to justice.

(Clearwisdom.net September 20, 2003) More than 10 overseas Chinese organizations have co-signed a letter to the U.S. government, asking them to impose legal sanctions on Liang Guanjun and his underlings for the beating of Falun Gong practitioners.

The letter recounted the incident of June 23rd of this year, in which Liang Guanjun and his cohorts beat Falun Gong practitioners in New York City's Chinatown, a violent action that the Chinese Consulate openly supported in the media the next day. These organizations were shocked and uneasy that the Chinese authorities, led by Jiang Zemin, have extended their persecution of Falun Gong into the U.S., a land of freedom and democracy.

The letter stated that Falun Gong has always been peaceful and rational during all protests and has never resorted to violence. This violent incident was obviously provoked and escalated by Liang and his people. Liang Guanjun dared to break the laws of the United States and violate human rights on American soil, where freedom and justice reign. We cannot ignore this outrageous incident.

Four years ago, the former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin initiated this inhuman, brutal persecution and suppression, which has resulted in nearly 800 confirmed deaths, thousands detained in mental hospitals, tens of thousands sent to labor camps, countless families broken apart, and seniors and young children neglected. We are deeply grieved in our hearts. We hope that Jiang and his regime can turn back before it is too late, that Jiang's regime will immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong, along with other groups in China with different points of view. Otherwise, they will not be able to escape the course of justice.

The letter called on the U.S. government to investigate the ongoing harassment and unlawful conduct by Jiang's regime and its diplomats towards those U.S. citizens who practice Falun Gong, and even towards U.S. officials who support Falun Gong. The U.S. government should take proper actions, including enforcing immigration laws against those people and institutions of the PRC who are conducting unlawful acts on American soil.

The letter thanked the U.S. government for its longstanding support of those being persecuted in China and urged the U.S. government to further investigate Liang Guanjun's case and bring the guilty parties to justice.

(Clearwisdom.net, September 29, 2003) (Clearwisdom.net C Ottawa) On September 25, at Parliament Hill and the Canadian Supreme Court in Ottawa, the Capital of Canada, several hundred Falun Gong practitioners from Toronto and supporters held a grand rally, a parade and staged a symbolic trial to try the chief perpetrator, Jiang Zemin, who launched the persecution of Falun Gong. Practitioners also called on the Canadian Premier, who plans to visit China, to help rescue their family members who are being persecuted in China and help end the four-year-long persecution. Representative of the "Word Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" (WOIPFG) Matt Hildebrand delivered a speech. Six Parliament members attended the rally and gave supportive speeches. They were: MP Irwin Cotler, President of the Human Rights Committee, MP Stockwell Day, Canadian Alliance Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, MP Libby Davies, MP Rob Anders, MP Keith Martin and MP David Kilgour.

Around 11 am, a solemn trial in the court of morality started. Defendant Jiang was charged with committing genocide, torture and crimes against humanity. Several witnesses used their personal suffering of persecution as examples to expose the crimes and murder committed by Jiang and his 610 Office against millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China, as well as their poisonous deception and mental torture of innocent people over the world.

Rob Anders said in his speech that the persecution of the peaceful Falun Gong practitioners is a persecution of humanity's fundamental morality; it is an attack on morality and freedom. Jiang Zemin's persecution of Faun Gong in China has employed information institutions, labor camps and psychiatric hospitals. It has used the state-controlled media to deceive and threaten its own people. These coercive and suppressive measures have been extended to other countries. Large amounts of evidence shows that the Chinese Consulates and Embassies use exactly this kind of means to spread the anti-Falun Gong propaganda to other countries. In addition, in Canada, they even threatened Falun Gong practitioners. At present, Jiang Zemin is facing a global trial for the crimes he has committed.

Human rights attorney Irwin Cotler stated his view on the global trial of Jiang, saying that from a human rights perspective, every country has the responsibility to sue and extradite those world criminals whose crimes are irrefutable. This is also part of a global effort to break away from situations in which someone can escape from being punished; instead, they should be investigated under the law, so as to ensure that human rights criminals no longer have the immunity under the law but will be held accountable for what they have done. This kind of effort is one of the responsibilities of the world judiciary system in the 21^st century.

MP Libby Davies said that it is very important to apply legal measures to punish the criminals according to law. At the same time, we still need more common people's persistent help: those who come to the Parliament, those who meet with Members of Parliament, different organizations. Then at the political layer, we need help from the United Nations and Canadian government. With all these efforts, we will achieve the momentum we need. Therefore, I think the legal challenge and the active prosecution and trial of Jiang are very important.

Representatives of "World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong" and "Global Alliance to Bring Jiang to Justice" also joined this public tribunal. The representative of WOIPFG announced the most recent results of the investigation on Jiang and the 610 Office's hate crimes.

To rescue family members who are being persecuted in China, Toronto Falun Gong practitioners started a bike trip. After eight days of arduous journey, seven Falun Gong practitioners successfully arrived at the Parliament Hill in Ottawa this morning. Toronto practitioner Mr. Sun Dali said when he was interviewed, "During the trip, practitioners overcame physical and technical difficulties as well as bad weather. We successfully spread the information about Dafa and the persecution of Dafa in China to the governments and people of over the 10 cities along the way. We received broad support from the Canadian people. We hope the Prime Minister will utilize this opportunity of visiting China to urge the Chinese government to stop the persecution and release Falun Gong practitioners, including our family members." Sun Dali's aunt is currently imprisoned in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp in Shangdong Province for practicing Falun Gong.

During the one-day activity, Falun Gong practitioners delivered a petition letter to the Prime Minister's office and talked with his assistant, who promised to pass the petition letter as well as practitioners appeal to the Prime Minister.

The six Members of Parliament who joined the rally today all expressed that they had already used different means to urge the Canadian Prime Minister to raise human rights issue in China and urge China to end the persecution of Falun Gong during his visit, and they would continue to do so.

MP Irwin Cotler said when answering reporters' questions that we must clearly express to China: How you treat Falun Gong will become a criteria to judge whether the China-Canada relationship can be improved and whether China can be respected in the International community. Falun Gong is not only related to China, but it is also echoed in the international community.

MP Libby Davies stated that she and many other MPs had written letters and held news conferences to urge the Canadian Prime Minister to call for an end to the persecution. Davies said that the MPs would like to let the Prime Minister know that although trade and business relationships are important, we have to give human rights the first priority. We must have determination to persistently appeal and constantly call for the government to be the leader of human rights, rather than to follow other's footsteps. Instead of being a silent partner, we should be the leader of calling for safeguarding the rights of China's Falun Gong practitioners and express to the Chinese government that Canada will not put these fundamental human rights beneath trade, but above trade. Although, sometimes, the road to justice can be long, and we might encounter frustration and obstacles, nevertheless, we are persisting.

MP David Kilgour stated at the rally that we can find our common humanity in Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance and unite people together, no matter how different our nationalities or cultural backgrounds might be. If more people and governments could think for a second and ask themselves what Truthfulness and Compassion mean, the world would become more beautiful.

(Clearwisdom.net, September 28, 2003) When Dafa practitioners arrived at Rovaniemi Airport in Lapland, the Chinese Embassy staff who were waiting for the head of the "610 Office" became very nervous. They told Finnish police many lies about Falun Gong and Falun Gong practitioners. When the practitioners applied to the police for extension of the permission to appeal at the airport, the Finnish police who did not know the truth of Falun Gong denied the application.

The following day, several practitioners went to the police station to explain the facts and reapply for permission to appeal at the airport. After arriving at the police station, practitioners asked them whether they have heard anything about Falun Gong. The police said: "We have never heard of it before, but our colleagues on duty told us that you are easy to get along with. And we have looked through the materials they brought back. From the TV news, we know why you are here." Since he was not in a position to make a decision, he asked us to come over the following morning because he had to report the matter to his superiors.

Practitioners arrived at the police station as soon as it opened the following day. A manager said: "We didn't know you much yesterday, but you may stay there as long as you wish today." The practitioner asked: "Do you realize we are peaceful?" The police said: "Yes, we have come to understand you now."

At noon, when Luo Gan was about to depart, the staff of the Chinese Embassy asked the police to move us. The police on duty told them: "I cannot do that, because they have permission." Afterwards the Chinese embassy staff talked to them again together with airport personnel, but the police officer maintained his previous position. When they requested a third time, the police only smiled without saying a word.

After Luo Gan's plane left Finland in heavy fog, a Finnish official walked out of the airport. Two practitioners approached him and handed him Dafa materials. He introduced himself saying: "I am the secretary general of the Lapland Provincial government, I have understood your concerns, and I will forward your materials to the governor."

Falun Gong practitioner Wei Xingyan is a young lady and a graduate student at the Department of High Voltage Electricity Transportation at Chongqing University. She was kidnapped, detained and raped by policemen because she upheld truth and freedom of belief.

When this violent incident was reported overseas, no media in China, from the local to the central government reported the truth of the incident or condemned the authorities' actions. No administration at any level punished the criminals. Instead, the Party, administration, police, procurator, news media and educational venues were all mobilized to cooperate with the "610 Office" to conceal the news. The policemen who committed the crime were relocated to other places. The victim, people who knew the facts of the situation and the students living at the same dorm building were forcibly separated and now cannot be located.

Especially shocking were the lies evident in the three statements made by the administration of Chongqing University. They claimed that the victim and the victim's department did not exist. As educators, they have blatantly violated a basic set of ethics expected of those to whom we entrust the education of our young people.

When the news could not be completely concealed, the authorities sent agents to the Chongqing University campus. They purposefully displayed their modern surveillance equipment, publicly searched and arrested Falun Gong practitioners and people who might leak the truth out. They acted like bandits who are above the law. It appears that they have once again resorted to utilizing fear and intimidation to suppress public opinion.

However, I would like to advise those tyrants not to be so reckless. The measures the authorities took under the cover of so-called "stabilizing the overall situation" actually added more evidence of their crime. The measures that were used to cover up their shameless actions trampled the constitution, and at the same time, exposed their crimes even more.

Since Jiang's regime seized power, sexual violation of female citizens has occurred at an alarming and unacceptable rate. However, the incident of Wei Xingyan has the following unique characteristics.

They didn't realize that it may be easy to remove a name or a department from a website, but to remove the criminal act of a government from a person's memory is impossible, even if you have unchecked power. The authorities failed to realize that covering up a criminal act merely empowers the criminals. Their original intention was to cover up the incident, but the result was instead to expose their own deeds. Moreover, the more they tried to cover it up, the more they were exposed. This time, they cannot deny it any longer.

This event was abhorrent to both heaven and to the people. In order to expose the deeper implications of this event, I must mention a heroic tragedy in Chinese history as a reference point. For the last fifty years, the venom of atheism was widely spread and deeply rooted in China. Atheism was ruthlessly forced into Chinese peoples' brains with propaganda by the Party. Under attack by both "anti-feudalism" and "sexual liberation", the virtue of Chinese traditional culture has been rendered unrecognizable. The moral values and the principles of virtue were radically transformed. The citizens of China could not smell the stinking odor because they had breathed it for too long. If I don't compare this with a historic event, it will be difficult to expose the evil and awaken the people to their crimes.

When we recall the revolutionary heroine Qiu Jin, who landed a place in Chinese history for thousands of years to come, we cannot forget the heroic act of her facing death with a smile at the gate of Guxuan Pavilion, Shaoxing City in 1907. However, she made two requests: "Do not publicly display my head, and do not take off my clothes," and both were accepted.

Qiu Jin shed her blood for the country, caring little about losing her life. However, before her heroic death, she did uphold the dignity of a mother. Obviously, in the eyes of this heroine, there was still one thing that transcended life and death and transcended the value of a prestigious life. In my opinion, these requests displayed two aspects of Qiu Jin's greatness: first, she was a great mother and a great revolutionary. On the other hand, the confrontation between the late Qing dynasty and Qiu Jin was one of life and death. Despite the confrontation, torture could be applied, life could be taken, but the dignity of a mother could not be violated. At this point, the teetering Qing dynasty reached an agreement with Qiu Jin.

The greatest principle of humanity could not be greater than a mother's dignity, which is holy and inviolable. We will lose our humanity if we forget the dignity of mothers. Thus, a reference has been established to measure the evilness: How high is a mother's dignity and how deep are the sins of the Jiang Zemin regime?

Sexual violation is a trademark of a sinister society. Now the current regime of China that has called itself a republic for over 50 years has become such a dark organization. This is the misfortune of the Chinese people and a shame for the pioneers who shed their blood for the ideals of the republic.

Here, the Jiang Zemin regime can be best described using its own political terms. This political group has established a systematic criminal organization, the 610 office, which is above all law and order, from the central to local government. Their political guidelines are: "wipe out all destabilizing factors before they appear", "do not believe that the materialism of Marxism cannot defeat Falun Gong". Their slogans are: "destroy their reputations, bankrupt their finances, wipe them out physically", "beat them to death without bearing responsibility, beat them to death and count it as suicide". "There is no need to act according to law, no need to find out where they are from, just cremate them". Summarized in one sentence, there is no need to care about the consequences. The police, the Procuratorate, court, administrative offices, and neighborhood committees were all mobilized. All of the national media were spreading lies all day long. The tortures and means of the dark societies throughout history and across national boundaries were adopted, including killing innocent people and sexual violation of women.

This national calamity can be more accurately described as "the machinery of a nation becoming the machinery of a gangster society", or "The gangster society becomes nationalized". The image of a nation should be the symbol of righteousness. The function of a nation is to crack down on evil and to protect virtue, to uphold righteousness, to protect the property of its citizens, and especially the holy and inviolable rights of women and children. Just the opposite is being done in China. The tools of dictatorship were used to suppress its citizens; the means of gangsters were used to trample on women. The Jiang Zemin regime has united with criminal offenders and encouraged them to participate in this shameful crime by tempting them with reduced jail terms. The criminal offenders become the extension of the nation's immense machinery of terror.

There is nothing wrong with "ruling a country with virtue". If it is truly practiced, a country will be well governed. However, the Party selected Jiang Zemin. You would understand the true meaning of "ruling a country with virtue" in China if you listen to Jiang's words! When journalists asked him, "What is your opinion about the female college student activists for democracy in 1989 that were gang-raped?" On CCTV [China's state run television], he answered without hesitation, "As ruffians of 'June 4', it serves them right!" According to him, sexual assault of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience is justified.

I'd like to remind readers that this is not that unusual. Whoever holds the power of the Party, administration and the military is able to label people with a fabricated crime. In one shot, he has completely trampled basic human dignity under the banner of "national stability." In just a few words, he showed his true face of what he thought about the inviolable dignity of women in our society. Sexual assault became a punishment for political and ideological prisoners. The practice of torture by sexual assault actually became a part of the police's repertoire.

Let's see what kind of inhuman deeds they have done. Just for refusing to recant their belief in Falun Dafa, 18 female Falun Gong practitioners were stripped of their clothes and thrown into a male jail cell. In the streets of the capital city, female Falun Gong practitioners who posted truth-clarifying materials were publicly beaten and raped. The sexual organs of female Falun Gong practitioners were sodomized using shoe brushes, four toothbrushes bundled together, and electric batons of over 10,000 volts, and so on and so forth. Jiang and his underlings have stopped at nothing in their shameless rampage.

One of the most sacred things in Chinese tradition, and other traditions for that matter, is the sanctity of women, even in times of war.á Jiang has totally destroyed that in trying to achieve his objectives, dragging down an entire society with it, and people everywhere with a sense of decency and honor should recognize that, condemn what is going on, and do everything in their power to put a stop to it.

In a recent article, the Xinhua News Agency [China's state controlled media] claimed that "per the strong request of the general public," the government banned Falun Gong "in compliance with the law" in 1999. During Jiang's campaign against Falun Gong for the past four years, they have repeatedly used the phrase "in compliance with the law." I would like to discuss this topic in this article.

First of all, during the four years of persecution, at least 780 Falun Gong practitioners have been killed, many of them died of torture. Let me ask, according to what law can Jiang's followers kill and torture whomever they please?

On June 10^th, 1999, Jiang Zemin secretly created the "610 Office" system; this system has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems. It can send Falun Gong practitioners to brainwashing classes to be tortured both physically and mentally. If practitioners refuse to give up their belief after the brainwashing, they will be subjected to fines, long-term detainment, or forced labor. Let me ask again, what law allows the "610 Office" to brainwash, extort money from, and torture innocent Falun Gong practitioners at its own will? What law in China allows such things?

Both China's constitution and the international human rights covenant state that the rights of belief, speech, and one's body not be interfered with. But Falun Gong practitioners' basic rights have been violated by the Jiang group; thus, Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong has no legal grounds at all and is in fact against China's own constitution.

When the Jiang group claims to do something "in compliance with the law," the law becomes the dictator's murderous weapon, which can be used to harm any individual or group that the dictator does not like. The so-called dictator's "law" has already lost the moral ground that can help uphold justice. This kind of law is already illegal.

During World War II, Hitler made laws against Jews: he "legally" took away the right for Jews to go to college and become employed. Then "according to the law," he sent Jews to concentration camps, where over six million died of persecution. During the 1930's, in the former Soviet Union, Stalin publicly sentenced his political rivals to death "in compliance with the law." Millions of people later died under the rule of Stalin. Obviously, Stalin's "law" does not represent morality or justice, but represents a severe crime. There is no difference at all between Jiang's idea of "law" and Hitler and Stalin's idea of "Law."

(Clearwisdom.net, September 28, 2003) This is an unusual postcard. The front page is a photo with a dark blue background, in which a girl with a glorious smile is holding a little girl riding a rocking horse. On the right and left hand side of the postcard are the words "Release Xiong Wei C Please give a helping hand" in German and in Chinese together with a poem:

"A Thought, flying to China, coming to your side my dear friend,
Tears, with respect and dignity, from the depth of my soul flowing toward you;
You are so unselfish, my friend, for Falun Dafa, to tell the people of the world,
This persecution, of these peaceful people, is so unfair.
My heart is still next to you, my tears harden,
Transformed to a confident smile, for your freedom."

At the back of the postcard the address of a labor camp in China is printed. The sender only needs to have their name signed next to a ready-made statement: "By signing my name, I express my insistence on the release of this soul based on freedom of belief in China." After a one-euro postage stamp is attached, the postcard can be sent to the labor camp in Beijing.

The smiling girl on the post card is Xiong Wei, who was originally a student in the Technical University of Berlin. She went back to China to work in a German company accredited in Beijing and was arrested at the beginning of 2001 because she distributed Falun Gong materials on the street. She is currently locked up in a female Labor Camp in Beijing. The little girl in her arms was the daughter of one of her friends in Berlin. While just learning to walk at that time, the little girl is now in her second grade in elementary school. Xiong Wei has been detained in the labor camp for two years.

Last weekend in the square in front of the theatre in Muenz City, a famous university town in Germany, a group composed of a Chinese and German practitioners attracted people's attention. They are Falun Gong practitioners from a city near Muenz. They came here appeal to the German society for the release of Xiong Wei.

Those who wanted to help could sign their names on an appeal letter that was to be sent to the Premier of Germany, Gerhard Schroeder. Those who wanted to personally encourage Xiong Wei could also take a postcard. After signing their names, they could mail it to Xiong Wei, who is currently detained in China. This post card was co-printed by Amnesty International, the German Falun Dafa Association, and the Germany-Chinese Language and Culture Exchange Association in Language Learning in the Technical University of Berlin. The poem on the front of the postcard was created and presented by her friends in Germany.

Having practiced Falun Gong for several years, Mr. Clore and his wife, Mario, came to attend this activity in Darmstadt City. Mr. Clore said that he hopes more people can understand Dafa through such activities, where people can see that Falun Gong practitioners all good people.

Those who understood the situation were very much willing to sign their name and express their support by filling in a postcard to send to Xiong Wei. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, over 100,000 practitioners have been detained in labor camps and prisons, among whom 787 have been persecuted to death. The international community has paid more and more attention to their situation.

(Clearwisdom.net) The Florida "Car Tour to Rescue Charles Li" successfully concluded on Friday, September 19, 2003 after a one-week journey. The car tour set off from Tampa, traveling through about a dozen major cities in Florida, including Bradenton, Fort Myers, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Melbourne, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Gainesville. The entire journey was more than 2,000 kilometers. With Dafa practitioners' righteous thoughts and cooperation as a whole body, the rescue tour achieved good effects clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa.

Florida is a large state with a scattered population. Dafa practitioners live all over in different places. The car tour fully demonstrated the strength of cooperation as a whole body.

The car tour was comprised of three practitioners, but we received support and cooperation from practitioners in different cities we visited. When the car tour traveled to cities without practitioners or with only a few practitioners, practitioners from other cities would help make phone calls to make appointments with the media, and apply for sites for activities.

Some practitioners drove several hours to offer support, hold press conferences or visit Mayors' offices. Florida practitioners overcame all kinds of difficulties, cooperated with each other and formed an effective unified body. Western and Chinese practitioners cooperated quite well when meeting the reporters and visiting city governments. When preparing Dafa truth-clarifying materials, delivering letters to city government officials and the media, the Western practitioners fully displayed their advantages in language. Chinese practitioners assisted them, offered opinions to supplement and made suggestions.

All members of the car tour gradually formed a whole body. Righteous thoughts became stronger, wisdom was enriched, and the effects were better and better. In the first one or two days, there were few media outlets attending our press conferences. The practitioners had to visit them one by one. In the following cities we traveled to, we had more interviews with the media; sometimes, several media attended the press conferences. On the final day of our car tour, four media outlets in Tallahassee, the capital city of Florida, attended our press conference. Several more media outlets also wanted to interview us. In the afternoon, at our final stop, Gainesville, a reporter interviewed us for about one hour. The next day, the largest local newspaper published an in-depth report on us.

When we had a meal at a Chinese restaurant near Orlando, the owner heard about Falun Gong, and said gladly, "Well, welcome Falun Gong." He said they often watched NTD TV programs, and were quite familiar with Falun Gong. He also asked us if we had materials for exercise instructions, because his friend wanted to learn but hadn't found it for a long time. Regarding Jiang's persecution, his comment was "stupid."

We also met some interference on the way. Car repairs were required even before we set off. In Jacksonville, four media outlets scheduled to interview us at 3:30 p.m. but changed their plans at 3:00 p.m. due to an accident occurring locally. The practitioners treated all interference with righteous thoughts, and finally achieved a good result.

(Clearwisdom.net) On September 21, Sunday, the sky of autumn was clear and high, and the annual Atlantic Special Art Street Fair was taking place in Brooklyn. This event is probably one of the largest festivals in Brooklyn. This year, a Falun Dafa group participated in the fair for the third time.

For this activity, we were not only introducing Falun Dafa to the public but also appealing to the people to help stop the persecution, and rescue Dr. Charles Li who was detained by Jiang's regime. Two large pictures beside our exercise demonstration attracted many visitors. One was "Sit with me" and the other was "Rescue American Citizen Charles Li". Many visitors signed the petition.

One visitor asked for Dafa truth-clarifying materials and told us that he knew of Falun Gong. Early in September, Falun Gong participated in the West Indies parade in Brooklyn. The local TV station broadcast the parade live. Practitioners' performance made a good impression on the audience. He told us that he watched the video of the parade a few times, "Falun Gong is the best!"

Another visitor showed us an article about rescuing Charles Li in a newspaper and said, "The newspaper reports your activities."

A police officer came to our table and took the truth materials and CD. When we asked him if he was willing to sign on the petition, he willingly signed.

During the activity, all practitioners cooperated with each other smoothly. The energy field was peaceful and compassionate. More people have come to know Falun Dafa and support it in their hearts.

On September 14, San Francisco Bay Area Dafa practitioners held a family-style Chinese Moon Festival fellowship luncheon. Most participants were Dafa practitioners who had family members currently detained in prisons and forced labor camps in China. San Jose City Council member Forrest Williams and his wife were also invited to this gathering.

Councilman Williams asked Dafa practitioners in detail about the current situations of their family members in China. Lu Zhonghua, a practitioner working in a computer firm was very appreciative to Councilman Williams. She said that there were tens of thousands of Falun Gong families like hers who could not reunite with loved ones in order to celebrate the Moon Festival. Businessman Fu Fucheng mentioned that his wedding anniversary was on the Moon Festival 31 years ago. Yet on this day, 31 years later, his wife is being held at the Pi County Detention Center in Sichuan Province, only because she refuses to give up practicing Falun Gong. He could only wish his wife well on their anniversary today. He longed for the day when he could reunite with his wife. Hu Zhihua has worked very hard for the release of his two brothers being detained in jail. He hopes Congressional members and the United States government will show even more concern about the persecution and human rights violations taking place in China right now and will help end this great calamity soon.

Mr. Bian Xuzhuang and Ms. Shen Shumin are a Falun Gong couple that has just arrived in the United States with the help of U.S. Congressional members. They talked about their own experiences of being persecuted in China. When they described their horrible experience of being barricaded in their home by the police for seven days and nights in the winter, and how the police smashed their windows with bricks, Councilman Williams was shocked and puzzled as to why the police treated such kind citizens brutally.

After he heard the stories from practitioners, Councilman Williams expressed his shock at the atrocities levied against Falun Gong practitioners. He indicated that he would personally visit Congressional members and ask them to show more concern about the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners' human rights and their conscience. He encouraged them not to give up, but to continue to carry out their struggle. He used examples of how some Americans had to struggle for their human rights and how it was also a continuing process. As long as you are clear about your direction, you must follow that path with perseverance. He inquired further about the detention of American citizen Dr. Charles Lee in China. He indicated that he would do everything in his power to secure the release of Dr. Lee, so that he could return to the United States and be reunited with his relatives.

Councilman Williams also listened to the Falun Gong practitioners tell the story of the Moon Festival. He also enjoyed the sumptuous lunch and the moon cake.

The Law Education School in Guangzhou City is in fact a prison. On the surface it has school facilities, but in reality, people are tortured and interrogated there. Falun Dafa practitioners are tied up and forced to remain standing for long periods of time. If a practitioner refuses to sign his name on a "guarantee statement"*, he is forced to sit, stand, or lie down, and hold this position for a long time. If the practitioner does move, he is immediately beaten. The guards have deprived practitioners of their right to sleep for several days, up to even over ten days. Some Dafa practitioners really could not physically stand any longer, but were nevertheless forced to continue standing.

Falun Dafa practitioner Wen Chunying is a Qiaodong District government employee in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. She was unlawfully arrested while attending a group Fa-study in Chengan County, Handan Prefecture, Hebei Province at the end of August 2002. She was transferred to the Hebei Provincial Brainwashing Center this summer. She has been brutally force-fed and beaten by police in the past year. She is physically very weak. Her employer does not dare to take her back because of the pressure he is receiving from his superiors.

Ever since the beginning of this year, Falun Dafa practitioners detained in the Pi County brainwashing center in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province have strengthened their Fa-study and sending forth righteous thoughts. They also went on hunger strikes without water to protest the persecution. Their family members eventually came to see clearly the evil nature of the persecution, and they made attempts to secure the rescue of the Dafa practitioners. There have been more than ten Falun Dafa practitioners who left there with strong righteous thoughts. However, there are still more than ten Falun Dafa practitioners being illegally detained there. Some of them have been detained there for more than two years.

One evening at the end of May 2003, three Falun Dafa practitioners were abducted while they were passing out truth-clarifying materials in the countryside in Northeastern China and were taken to a local detention center. Together they went on hunger strike without water. One couple among this group of three was brutally force-fed and vomited blood. However, the husband still clarified the truth to prisoners. People saw his suffering and felt sympathetic towards him. Some cursed at the police with tears in their eyes. This practitioner always maintained one thought, "I will walk out of here, and I will not stay in this den of evil." Later, the lawless "610 Officers"** became afraid that this couple would die there of hunger. They sentenced the couple to three years of labor camp and separated them. But their physical conditions did not meet the requirements for entrance into a labor camp. The police had to send them to the doctor. The doctor could not find any blood pressure and sent them to the hospital. The husband escaped through a hospital window with strong righteous thoughts, even though he had gone through eleven days of hunger strike without water. He then returned home and re-joined the efforts of clarifying the truth.

On September 12, 2003, the KYW radio station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania reported activities of Falun Dafa practitioners rescuing a fellow practitioner being persecuted in China. Mr. Cheng Gang lives in Malton, New Jersey, but was detained in a labor camp last September in China because he practices Falun Dafa. He joined the cross-country tour in order to raise public awareness about the severe persecution happening in China, and to call for public support in rescuing American citizen, Dr. Charles Li, who has been detained in China for eight months.

*"Guarantee statement" is a statement declaring that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong, guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.

1) Government officials in Xincheng City, Liaoning Province are organizing an increasing number of brainwashing programs to persecute Dafa practitioners. Currently, these officials are operating illegal brainwashing classes in Zhoujia Village, Sijia Township. Some Dafa practitioners in that area have been forced to leave their homes to avoid being forced into these brainwashing classes.

2) Officials from the Heilongjiang Province "610 Office"* arrived in Daqing City from September 20 to September 23. They plan to stay in Daqing for a period of time to intensify the persecution of Dafa practitioners in the Daqing area.

3) Since July 20, 2003, the "610 Office" in Xingyi City, Xuzhou County, Jiangsu Province has been continually searching for and arresting local Falun Gong practitioners. They have arrested eight Dafa practitioners so far, and have confiscated all of their property. Local practitioners Qiao Weidong, Dai Jintang, and others from Xingyi City have been tortured so brutally by the "610 Office" that these practitioners are still in extreme pain.

4) The heartless officials from the Panshi "610 Office" of Jilin Province illegally organized a brainwashing class on October 10, 2002. They abducted twenty-eight Dafa practitioners. Because the practitioners gathered in a group and concentrated on sending forth their righteous thoughts, they succeeded in resisting the ill effects of the brainwashing. Therefore, two weeks after the brainwashing program started, guards began ignoring the activities of the practitioners. The practitioners could freely study the Fa, do the exercises, send forth righteous thoughts, and clarify the truth.

U.S. court ruling upholds former Chinese leader's diplomatic immunity. Falun Dafa Info Center advises that the case charging Jiang Zemin is just beginning.

In Sacramento, California, Falun Gong practitioners used the opportunity to set up a small booth to let people know about the ongoing efforts to rescue American citizen, Dr. Charles Li, who is illegally jailed in Nanjing, China.

Hundreds of people stopped by and were very happy to sign the petition urging the U.S. government to continue their diplomatic dialogue with Chinese officials to gain the release of Dr. Li.

Like city children throughout North America, kids from the Minghui School recently enjoyed a late summer day camp in a country setting.

They had the chance to do several different activities, including some traditional crafts and games and artwork with Chinese characters.

In mid-August 2003, an "expert group" was dispatched from Beijing to Shuangcheng, Daqing, and other cities in Heilongjiang Province to hold brainwashing classes to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Claims were made that "ground breaking work is to be laid in Heilongjiang." "610 Offices" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] across the province sent in people to learn new strategies to be able to more comprehensively persecute Falun Dafa practitioners.

The "expert group" is made up of a dozen or so individuals, who were either among the key personnel from various provinces or former Falun Gong followers who enlightened along evil paths. They resorted to sleep deprivation and combined threats with enticements and brutal tortures to coerce practitioners into signing "four statements" denouncing Falun Gong. Some practitioners who did not study the Fa well enough gave in to the pressure and some even gave up practicing.

It has been learned that Heilongjiang authorities plan to heavily fund the construction of a "transformation base" on Taiyang Island in Harbin City.

Recently a village cadre in the Xingtai area has revealed that the town government called for a meeting to assign areas for persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. A demand was made that all the Falun Dafa practitioners in each township, town, or other organization or enterprise sign a "statement of transformation" by the end of November or face abduction to the brainwashing in Xingtai City, Hebei Province.

On the evening of September 16, 2003, a large police force was mobilized in Jilin City to unlawfully arrest Falun Dafa practitioners. It has so far been confirmed that those under arrest include: Mr. Liu Hongwei, Mr. Zhao Yingjie, Ms. Wang Guihua, Mr. Li Xintong, Ms. Sun, Ms. Liu, and others. Their whereabouts remain unknown, and the police have unlawfully confiscated cash and valuable items totaling over 10,000 Yuan. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.]

In early September Zhengzhou Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhao Yueyun was delivering Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials in her hometown when someone who did not know the facts about the persecution turned her in to the police. She was unlawfully arrested in Zhengzhou City by the Dengfeng Police Department of Henan Province and sent to the Dengfeng Detention Center. On September 5, Ms. Zhao was unlawfully sentenced to five years in prison. She was transferred to the Henan Provincial Women's Prison located in Xinxiang City on September 10.

On September 9, 2003, Daqing Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Tongling, from Chengsancun in the Rang District, was abducted under the building where she lived. A total of eight people, including the security staff from the Sanan Enterprise where she worked and officers from the Chengxin Police Station in Rang District, carried out the abduction. Ms. Liu was sent to the Hongweixing Brainwashing Center in Daqing City. She has rejected any cooperation with her abductors. Wherever she goes, she stages a hunger strike to protest her unlawful arrest. At the same time she explains the facts of the persecution against Falun Gong to the staff in the various facilities. Her actions have caused fear among the persecutors. Afraid she might influence others, authorities sent her to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Institute to serve a term of forced labor. Ms. Liu has expressed her determination to continue her hunger strike to her last breath to break away from the evil and unlawful persecution.

Police officers at the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp in Qiqihar City have been forcing family members to read pre-drafted statements defaming Falun Dafa and its founder on days when visits are scheduled. Family members who refuse to comply are denied visits. Many family members are so anxious to see their loved ones that they give in.

High School Curriculum for the Senior Year had its first printing in June 2003. It was compiled by the Committee on Moral Education for Elementary Schools and Ideological and Political Courses for High Schools and published by the People's Education Press. The New China Bookstore in Liaoning Province distributes it. The remarks printed in Lesson 4 "The Nationalities and Religions in Our Country," pages 128 to 129, defame Falun Dafa and its founder.

(2) The Guangming Daily Press publishes a drill series entitled The Road to Talent. This political textbook for the senior year in high schools contains numerous statements defaming Falun Dafa and its founder.

Editors' Note: Each time we publish news of this nature, we do so with heavy hearts. These people started off as public servants, but under the intense pressure applied by the Jiang regime, they were pushed into persecuting Dafa disciples. In the process of destroying the lives of kind, law-abiding citizens, they have sealed their own fates and inevitably faced karmic retribution as punishment. If it weren't for Jiang's wicked orders, perhaps their fates would have been different.

Zhang Xiuming is in his 40's, and is Deputy Police Chief of Chicheng County in Hebei Province. As a head police officer, he brutally persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. Because of him, dozens of Dafa practitioners were illegally sent to labor camps, jails and detention centers. Due to his actions, Dafa practitioner Ms. Jiang Shuhua was tortured to death. Now, Zhang Xiuming is dying of cancer. His wife is also seriously ill. This is a warning that those who have committed such evil crimes will not escape karmic retribution.

Song Zengjia is a villager in Songjiayu Village, Dazhangzhuang Township in Yiyuan County, Zibo City of Shandong Province. A few years ago, he was working for the township government. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began he has actively persecuted many Dafa practitioners. Before the persecution started, he enjoyed excellent health. But in less than two years, he developed a brain disease and was then hospitalized for almost the next two years. The mounting hospital bills put him in deep debt for the rest of his life. He now very much regrets his actions. He has come to know that Falun Gong practitioners as well as their families have benefited from practicing Falun Gong. He realizes that if he had not persecuted Dafa practitioners, he would not have ended up like this.

The ancient people said, "You should mend your fence before another sheep is lost to the wolf." This person should really do something to correct his own wrong-doings.

(Clearwisdom.net) A "solemn declaration" is a person's public statement declaring to the world that whatever he or she has done or said under duress or deception that was against Falun Dafa is null and void. Most of these statements have come from Falun Dafa practitioners in China who wished to express regret that, in the face of physical torture and brainwashing, they had signed documents renouncing Dafa and guaranteeing not to practice again. Also, as more and more people in China learn the truth about how they have been deceived and lied to by the Jiang regime, many non-practitioners are also submitting "solemn declarations."
