My Experience Clarifying the Truth in a Rural Area of China

Having been held in the jail for a long period of time, I have not visited my mother-in-law for about 4 years now. My husband (a non-practitioner) and I decided to go back to our hometown to talk to people about Falun Gong. However, the police chased us for a couple hundred kilometers and waited for us at the entrance of the village. In rural areas, people feel ashamed if any of their family members have been jailed. They have "lost face" and cannot walk with their heads held up high.

My mother-in-law was lying in bed very sick when the police came. I spoke to them very calmly about my experience at the detention center, and won the sympathy of the two policemen. My mother-in-law said to them, with a lot of difficulty, "Why are you guys going after her? What did she do?" The two policemen looked at each other and said helplessly, "We are just following orders from above. Take care of yourself, we are leaving now."

Our relatives soon came over to visit. My two sisters-in-law tried to comfort me, "There is nothing shameful about being jailed for practicing Falun Gong. You did not rob or steal. If they fire you, so be it. Stay here, we have plenty of food." I was very touched by their words. I then told them that the so-called self-immolation was staged and that Falun Gong is practiced in over 50 countries. They said, "We know that the self-immolation is false. You are such a smart woman. If Falun Gong weren't that good, you would not have gone for it. If you were not good, your husband would not have let you practice."

Once I talked to my two brothers-in-law and told them about the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and told them about the principle of good being rewarded with good and evil meeting with evil. They were both convinced. My husband also helped me out. In the end, they said, "It is your Master that sent you guys to save us." They went on to tell me that they used to listen to Master's lectures. As they drove, they would remember what Master said every now and then. They tried to abide by what Master said when they did business.

During the Spring Festival, I took some truth-clarifying CD's back to my hometown. The villagers were very interested in watching them, and they were not afraid of the policemen. After I played it several times, some relatives borrowed it from me. A neighbor said after watching it, "I did not know so many people practiced Falun Gong. Jiang has been lying to all of us. I knew it was a good thing. Otherwise, why would so many people rather go to jail than give it up? If it were not good, no one would practice it." Another person said, "If we all practiced it, they would never be able to round us all up.

During the Spring Festival, I used the opportunity to visit people door to door to talk to them about Falun Gong. My two sisters-in-law helped me as well. It worked really well. When I got home, my mother-in-law and I seized the opportunity to talk to the younger people about Falun Gong as well. I saw all those eyes hoping to be saved. A few women about my age took my hands and said, "We are proud that we have a Falun Gong practitioner in this village. We are all benefiting from it."
