(Clearwisdom.net) You have recently sent me a letter concerning the situation of Falun Gong in China. We are very aware of the persecution of Falun Gong. Human rights abuses in China are totally unacceptable. For those who have become accustomed to free society, it is impossible to comprehend how the Chinese government has behaved.

Even though Chinese society and the Communist Party are slow to change, and it is obvious that in the field of democracy and human rights there is a lot to do. It is futile to try and govern China from the outside, but through international forums and appealing, we can try to improve the situation, so that China will respect human rights and stop persecuting Falun Gong.
