Dafa disciple Ms. Tang Guorong is a 57 years old retired teacher of Tongyong Mechanics Factory in Dashiba, Jiangbei district of Chongqing City. After July 20, 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal and validate Dafa many times. On November 30, 1999, she went to another practitioner's home to share experiences and was illegally detained by local policemen. She was then sentenced to forced-labor for one year. While she was illegally detained in Maojiashan Women's Labor Camp in Chongqing City, the length of her term was prolonged without reason, and she was not released until October of 2001. After she was released, police often went to her home to harass her, so she was forced to leave her home. But no matter how severe the environment was, she kept doing what a Dafa disciple should do and persisted in her belief of "Zhen-Shan-Ren" (Truth-Compassion-Tolerance).

On June 20, 2003, the police detained her once again. She firmly refused to cooperate and resisted the detention ordered by the "610 Office". Because her body had become extremely weak due to a long-term hunger strike, she was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. It was not clear what her situation was after she was detained; however, it was said that her medical expenses would cost 400-500 Yuan every day. Because police were afraid of taking responsibility, they asked her family to visit her. She has two daughters, and the elder daughter, Xiang Zhongyu, lives in Chengdu and is a lawyer in a law firm in Chengdu City. Her son-in-law works in the People's Court in Chengdu City and is now studying in England. Ms. Tang's younger daughter, Xiang Zhongyao, was sentenced to 7 years in Hepu County, Guangxi Province because she firmly cultivates Dafa. Zhongyao's husband Luo Xiangxu was sentenced to 4 years in jail, and he was detained in Yongchuan Forced-labor Camp in Chongqing. Ms. Tang's husband didn't dare to deal with the arrest of his family members because he was not a practitioner.

At present, Ms. Tang is still safeguarding her belief in "Zhen-Shan-Ren" with her life. She has been on a hunger strike for over 60 days and is in critical condition. However, the Chongqing "610 Office" is still using all kinds of brutal means to further persecute her. They have even use forced-feeding as another method of persecution. Up to now, many Dafa disciples in many areas in China have been tortured to death due to force-feeding.

We hereby urgently appeal to all kind and just people and human rights organizations worldwide to pay attention to this incident. At the same time, we hope that the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong will set up a case to investigate.
