Wanbailin Branch Office of Taiyuan City Police Department in Shanxi Province Madly Persecutes Dafa Practitioners

Since July 20, 1999, the Wanbailin Branch Office of the Taiyuan City Police Department in Shanxi Province has been actively following Jiang's order to persecute Dafa and Dafa disciples. In the past four years, Wanbailin Branch Office and the 16 police stations in its jurisdiction have carried out the policy of "defaming the practitioners, bankrupting them, and destroying their bodies." They have ransacked practitioners' homes, followed, abducted, detained, brainwashed, tortured, sent practitioners to labor camps, and sentenced them to prisons.

They were especially rampant before the 16^th Party Congress at the end of October 2002. Under the direction of Captain Zhang in the police department, the Branch office arrested 48 Dafa practitioners (including those who have been going from place to place to avoid further persecution), destroyed three Dafa material production sites, and tortured three Dafa disciples to death. Many practitioners were illegally sentenced to labor camps and prison terms. On July 7 and 8 of 2003, they put practitioners on trial in the Wanbailin District Court. During the court session, the righteousness of Dafa practitioners deeply touched the local residents. They were eager to find out more about Falun Gong. The youngest practitioner that was sentenced was only 16 years old.

The Wanbailin Branch Office also sent several practitioners to brainwashing classes held by the "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) of Taiyuan City.
