Dafa Practitioner Fang Bin from Beijing Resists Persecution with Righteous Thoughts

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 12, 2001, Tuanhe Forced Labor Camp deceived Dafa practitioner Fang Bin, who had just been in the labor camp for one day, into being interviewed by reporters. Because of the deception, what Fang Bin said was totally inconsistent with the facts. Fang Bin finished his term and was released at the end of 2002. By then, he had completely recognized how he had been deceived. Fang's wife, Feng Yunqing, also a Dafa practitioner, was sent to a forced labor camp at the beginning of 2001 and was detained for one and a half years. The couple has a 6-year-old child. After they were reunited, the whole family returned to the mighty current of the Fa-rectification.

To further validate the Fa and to remedy the previous loss, the couple often shared their understandings with practitioners who had deviations in their cultivation path. They helped many to become clear-minded again and return to Dafa cultivation. However, two collaborators [former Falun Dafa practitioners who went astray due to the severe pressure and torture and now have been utilized by the authorities to persecute diligent Dafa practitioners] released from the former Xinan Labor Camp (now the Beijing Women's Labor Camp) informed on them. On the night of April 11, 2003, police from Chaoyang District Police Department broke in and ransacked their home. Feng Yunqing was taken away and the child was left alone at home. To protect other practitioners, Feng Yunqing took upon herself all the responsibilities of those things the police questioned her about; she was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor, and is now detained in Beijing Women's Labor Camp.

Fang Bin was out of town when his wife was arrested. Many practitioners informed him by way of phone calls and warned him not to come back. Fang Bin, however, had very strong righteous thoughts. He knew all these events were essentially the arrangements of the old forces, and not humans persecuting humans. He said to others, "Master said,

"As I've said, everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts. Even though the old forces do exist, if you don't have those thoughts they can't do anything. When your righteous thoughts are strong enough the old forces can't do a thing." Since the evil comes towards me, I cannot hide. Master said,

"Wherever there's a problem, that is where you need to clarify the truth and save people. Don't take a detour when you run into difficulties. When you see something that does us harm, or when you see something blocking our validating the Fa, don't take a detour -- you should face it, and clarify the truth and save those beings. This is the compassion (cibei) of a Dafa disciple, and it's our saving lives. At the same time, when you're clarifying the truth you can resolve the problem of many people having been deceived, the misunderstandings, and the prejudice. After all, the lies in the propaganda from this evil persecution that's happening in China have misled sentient beings. They have covered up the truth with a deceitful show. When met with the truth, people will think things over carefully, and how people respond to all this is their own choice." ("Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference, 2002")

Thus, Fang Bin calmly returned home.

After coming back, he immediately went to Chaoyang District Police Department and sternly questioned the police, "Under which law did you arrest my wife and put her in the labor camp? Is there a law in China that convicts people for what they believe or don't believe?" The police were rendered speechless, and could find no excuse to do anything to him.

Fang Bin then went to the "610 Office,"* police station, community office and questioned them on why his wife had been illegally sent to labor camp. Meanwhile, he told them how practitioners in labor camps were deprived of sleep, subjected to physical punishments, shocked with electric batons, etc. The facts again rendered the listeners speechless. He said to the "610 Office," "Because of your threats, my employer has fired me. Now I am unemployed and you have put my wife in a labor camp. How do you want me to live?" The officials went into a panic and said that they would help him find a job.

Fang Bin constantly wrote to various government agencies and offices, including the National People's Congress, the National Political Consultation Conference, the Minister of Public Security, the Minister of Justice, All-China Women's Federation, and directors of various local government agencies in Beijing, etc., to report the police's illegal use of the law by sending his wife to a labor camp, the persecution that caused him to be unemployed, and that no one took care of his child. He also wrote about how he had been abused in the labor camp, how the labor camp ruthlessly refused him visits with his wife, and that there are many cases like his in China. He wrote to various government agencies whenever a problem arose, and he has already sent out more than 100 letters. Some of the letters were transferred back to Chaoyang District, so the police and "610 Office" went to find him. He then clarified the truth and reasoned with them directly in an open and above-board manner. As a result, the police and the people from "610 Office" tried hard to avoid him whenever they saw him or received phone calls from him. Some told him, "This is strange. Our primary purpose is to arrest you, but we just cannot detain you. Why is this?" Some people took the initiative to contact him, "When will you file a law suit on behalf of your wife? We'll accept your case and we support you."

* "610 Office": an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
