Dafa 1. [China] General Administration of Broadcasting and Television of China
Sets up Surveillance Station in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, in Order to
Interfere with Falun Dafa Practitioners' Efforts to Clarify the Truth The General Administration of Broadcasting and Television of China has set up
a surveillance station at the fourteenth kilometer along Hashuang Road in Harbin
City, Heilongjiang Province. Most of the equipment has been imported from the
United States. It has been learned that this is the largest television and radio
transmission, reception, and interference station in northeast China. The
purpose is to monitor and interfere with any television signals sent by Falun
Dafa practitioners via television or radio. The installation has been completed
and is expected to be in operation on October 1. 2. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Police Sabotage a Falun Gong Materials
Storage Site in Boyuquan District Early in the morning on August 21, a Falun Gong materials storage site in
Boyuquan District in Yingkou City was sabotaged. A male Falun Gong practitioner
successfully walked away. Two female practitioners (one is named Li Fengmei)
were illegally thrown into the Boyuquan No. 3 Detention Center. The police also
took away all the equipment. It has been learned that the police are planning to transfer the two
practitioners to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. The older practitioner has
already been transferred to the Zhanqian Division of Police Department in
Yingkou City. 3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Guta Division of Police Department Sends
Out Officers to Harass Falun Dafa Practitioner Gao Baoxiang Around 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. on August 13, 2003, officers from the Shiying Police
Station arrived at Ms. Gao Baoxiang's home ordering her to write statements of
guarantee renouncing Falun Gong, which she rejected. Ms. Gao was not feeling
well throughout the four hours when the officers were harassing her. The
officers did not leave until Ms. Gao's body started to have spasms. But in a
minute, two officers returned, announcing, "It doesn't matter if your body
cramps. If you don't write the statement of guarantee, we're going to call in an
ambulance. We will then take you to the detention center." Ms. Gao again
firmly rejected the demand. The officers had to leave. Ms. Gao was thus able to
leave her home. Ten minutes later, the Shiying Police Station sent in two
vehicles packed with policemen. Ms. Gao has been staying away from her home ever
since. (Note: Ms. Gao was living with her teenage daughter.) 4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Facts of Persecution against Falun Dafa
Practitioner Zhang Shenyou from Cangbu Town in Xinzhou District Mr. Zhang Shenyou was turned in to the police by an informant. He jumped out
of the back window and was forced into a pond by officers from the local police
station. Zhang was illegally arrested after officers fired gun shots. For
carrying out this arrest, the Xinzhou Division of Police Department has been
awarded 20,000 Yuan, and the Cangbu Police Station was awarded 2,000 Yuan. The
informant received 4,000 (although the public notice promised a reward of 5,000
Yuan). [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.]
Mr. Zhang has already broken away from police custody. 5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Members of the Xinzhou District "610
Office" Coerce Falun Dafa Practitioners to Attend Brainwashing Classes Liu Junshun, Zhou Yingjie, Yu Shangda and others in the Xinzhou District
"610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun
Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all
other political and judiciary systems].coerced the education commission to
hold brainwashing classes during the summer vacation. The classes were held in
two sessions in the towns of Cangfu and Chengguan. One session was held in the
beginning and the other at the end of July. Practitioners in the school system
were forced to write "three statements" in brainwashing classes.
Anyone who did not comply would face dismissal from their job. An overwhelming
number of practitioners refused to renounce their beliefs, and the scheme of the
"610 Office" was thwarted. Leaders of the "610 Office" are: Liu Junshun: 86-27-86925760. 6. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Qingdao Falun Dafa Practitioner Wang
Kangning Remains in Illegal Custody at the Qingdao City Prison Around 6:30 a.m. on March 7, 2003, Mr. Wang Kangning went to pay a brief
visit to a fellow practitioner. Within half an hour, an informant called the
police. Four officers from the Hongqi Police Station took Mr. Wang to the police
station and locked him in a wooden cage. The officers also took 960 Yuan Wang
was carrying. After being brutally tortured during for three days at the Hongqi
Police Station, on the fourth day Mr. Wang received a sentence from Qingdao City
of 10 years in prison. 7. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Evil Scoundrels Anxious to Abduct Falun
Dafa Practitioners for Brainwashing Classes Evil scoundrels in Benxi City are planning on holding brainwashing classes
again in September to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. A campaign has been
under way to abduct attendees to the brainwashing facility. 8. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Wuchang District Police Make Life Extremely
Harsh for Falun Dafa Practitioners After many Wuhan Falun Dafa practitioners were released home after their
illegal terms of forced labor had expired, local police stations have made up
all kinds of excuses to prevent them from getting their names restored in
residential books or issuing identification cards. This has effectively
prevented practitioners from looking for jobs and made it very hard for them in
all aspects of life. 9. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Four Falun Dafa Practitioners Remain in
Illegal Custody at the Zhengzhou City No. 1 Detention Center Zhengzhou Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Quan Peijian, Ms. Niu Tongqing, Ms.
Feng Caiqin, and Ms. Liu Huiling remain in custody at (Section 8 of) the
Zhengzhou City No. 1 Detention Center. The police have brutally tortured the

Arrests Eight Falun Dafa Practitioners, Including Luo Yingjie, a 74-Year-Old
Retired Teacher In early June 2003, Chengdu police illegally arrested eight Falun Dafa
practitioners who were clarifying the facts of Falun Gong to the public. Among
the arrested, Ms. Luo Yingjie is an elderly retired teacher at age 74. The
practitioners are being held in the Chengdu City Detention Center. More details
are not yet available. 11. [Fuyang City, Sichuan Province] Police Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners
Already Forced Out of Their Homes with No Place to Live Recently the Fuyang police have gone all out in rounding up Falun Dafa
practitioners who have been forced out of their homes. On August 18, Falun Dafa
practitioner Ms. Gao Xiuming went out around noon. She has not yet returned. It
is likely she has been abducted by the police. 12. [Beijing] Police Illegally Place Falun Dafa Practitioner Li Yanyan under
Arrest It was near dusk on August 14, 2003. Ms. Li Yanyan was followed by police
officers when she went to a friend's home in the Asian Olympic Games area.
Officers from the Asian Olympic Games Police Station and cadres from the local
neighborhood administrative office pounded on the door. Ms. Li was in the shower
and did not open the door. The police then set up fire-fighting ladders and
climbed up to the sixth floor and smashed the windows to break in. Officers
dragged and pulled Ms. Li and took her away. Neighbors and onlookers were
sickened and shocked at the police brutality. The officers, however, made up
lies that the utilities in Ms. Li's friend's home needed emergency repair work.
Later Ms. Li Yanyan was taken to the Chaoyang District Division of Police

practitioners to prison. They are Mr. Gao Feng, Mr. Mei Yingjiu, Mr. Zuo Hongtao,
and Mr. Wei Danquan. 14. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Propaganda Vehicles Seen in the Cultural
Revolution Deployed to Defame Falun Dafa Evil scoundrels in Xinzhou District have rolled out propaganda vehicles [with
loud speakers] on the street to spread rumors and lies defaming Falun Dafa.
Textual and graphic material slandering Falun Dafa have been posted in Xinzhou
Cement Factory. Some leaders in the Xinzhou District Education Commission have
ordered arrests of Falun Gong practitioners in its subordinate schools and
