3000 Practitioners Gather in Taipei To Offer New Years Greetings to Teacher (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) The 2004 Taiwan Falun Dafa Cultivation Experiences Sharing Conference was held in Taipei on January 11, 2004, with some 6000 practitioners in attendance. The day before, about 3000 Falun Dafa practitioners gathered in Taipei and assembled characters "Falun Dafa is Good" in the stadium of Taiwan University as a greeting to Master.

In the early morning light, practitioners began to arrive at the stadium. They started to help arrange the cushions to form the characters. An elderly man helped out just like a young lad. He said, "Falun Gong let me benefited a lot both physical and mind. I resumed my health of years ago and my body feels stronger. I walk quickly and lightly." He came to help with the character assembly today, and wanted to thank for Dafa giving him a happy long life and to thank Teacher for teaching the Fa. He hopes everyone in the world learns that Falun Dafa is good. When it does, he said, the world will become more peaceful.

Though there were about three thousand practitioners participating in the character formation, the environment was serene and full of happiness of New Year.

Mr. Liu, one of the organizers, said that Falun Dafa practitioners participating in the event were from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Peru, United States, Japan, Korea, Australia, Ireland and other countries.

Chinese people in the Mainland can't freely practice Falun Gong, but across the strait in Taiwan, Falun Gong has become very popular. It started with a few thousand practitioners in 1999 and now Taiwan has over 300 thousand practitioners.

In the winter sunlight, 3000 practitioners assembled the characters "Falun Dafa is Good". Looking at the scene from above, a practitioner named Lin was very moved. She said, "Seeing so many practitioners take the initiative to participate in this activity to tell the world that Falun Dafa is good, I really hope Jiang Regime's persecution of Falun Gong will be stopped soon."

After forming the characters, practitioners practiced the five sets of exercises. Then they opened a huge banner saying "Happy New Year to Teacher" and took a photo together. The scene of exercises of 3000 practitioners was so impressive that it attracted many people doing morning exercises at Taiwan University.

One professor saw the spectacle, and said, "Your Teacher is really great. The exercise that improved people health must be a good exercise." One passerby burst out, "Ah! So many people practice Falun Gong in Taiwan!"

The event obtained support from the University administration. Taiwan University has a Falun Gong Club. People can see practitioners doing exercises and hear the soft exercise music every morning.

The activity concluded just after noon. The practitioners picked up paper scraps and trash when they left. Practitioners wished to meet each other again next year.
