A Government Official's View (Clearwisdom.net) In the past few years, I have gotten to know many Falun
Gong practitioners in my job. I have changed from my earlier misunderstanding
and hostility to now having the deepest respect for practitioners from the
bottom of my heart. I have seen their pure, merciful hearts, their strong
convictions, their pursuit of truth without fear, and their high moral
standards. In my work, I have witnessed many dark, unjust and shameful things. Falun
Gong practitioners have displayed vast mercy and great tolerance, and their
deeds have deeply astonished me. I have seen hope. I have seen Falun Gong
practitioners do faithfully what their hearts tell them to and speak from their
hearts. Their hearts are so wide and bright, and there is not any darkness. When
I am with them, I feel their purity, compassion and honesty. It is a pure land. In a certain labor camp, I am aware of the case of one young Falun Gong
practitioner, a college student. He was sent to a forced labor camp for
remaining resolute in his belief. We all think he is a good person. After
completing his first sentence in the forced labor camp, he was set free. Then,
in January 2004, he was sentenced to three years of forced labor camp again and
released for the second time. His physical condition became worse from the
torture. In August 2003, the labor camp was afraid that they would be held
responsible for his condition, so they sent him to the hospital. On the morning of September 4th 2003, the young man's family went
to take him home from the hospital while the documentation for his release from
the labor camp was being processed. They were not allowed to take him home
because the Head of the labor camp, Xu, claimed that the practitioner had become
highly infectious, and that he must stay in the hospital for further treatment.
His family could not believe it. Actually, the young man was never ill. This was only an excuse to not release
him. In China, power is higher than law. The young man is still in the hospital. On November 6th, his
family went to the hospital to see him. They were told he was sent back to the
labor camp on October 24th and not released because he wouldn't give
up his faith. Posting date: 1/17/2004
