Dafa Practitioners Remain Noble and Dignified as "Public Trial" Hastily Ends in Changyi City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) In the morning of November 18, 2003, authorities in Changyi City, Shandong Province, tried to propagate lies that demonized Falun Dafa through an illegal public trial of five Dafa practitioners. Taibaozhuang Township Middle School's athletic field was the setting chosen for this trial. Armed military police guarded the school's gate, and they didn't allow anyone to enter. Police cars patrolled the surrounding streets and the atmosphere was tense.

Nearly 100 local Dafa practitioners went near the school to send righteous thoughts.

Around 9: 30 a.m. when the police officers pushed practitioner Chu Liwen on to the defendant's stand with his arms tied behind his back, Chu Liwen shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is the righteous Way," "Everyone here please remember: Falun Dafa is good."

The police ran up to him and started beating him. Some police officers covered his mouth. Some tied a metal wire around his neck and yanked it from behind until Chu Liwen's face turned purple. He had difficulty breathing and his body arched backward. Even so, he still used all his strength to shout, "Falun Dafa is good."

With Chu Liwen's and many other Dafa practitioners' powerful righteous thoughts, the microphone fell and the loudspeakers failed to work, but the practitioners' clear, strong voices reciting "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is the righteous Way" resounded in the air.

The police officers became flustered and the perpetrators from the "610 Office" who planned the trial snuck away. Someone hastily read the so-called verdict. In a shaking voice he announced a five-year prison sentence for Chu Liwen before the 90-minute scheduled complete farce of a trial ended in less than 20 minutes.
