Minxi Prison Guard in Fujian Province Brutally Beats Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Xu Guotai, Threatens to "Kill His Entire Family" If He Exposed the Torture

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Xu Guotai. I am a 55-year-old man, living in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. Because I refused to give up my belief in Falun Gong, I was sentenced to 8 years in jail for a made-up crime. I am currently locked up in Minxi Prison, where I am often beaten and hung upside down. My hands and feet are constantly cuffed.

I wrote a summary of the torture I experienced in prison, and mailed it to the Minxi Prison authorities and the Longyan Area Procuratorate on June 3, 2002, and March 22, 2003, respectively. But as of now, I've gotten no reply--the letters were like rocks thrown into the ocean. Instead, the prison guards stepped up their persecution.

On the night of September 14, 2003, after the roll call, guard Yu Jianche ordered me to come out of the cell. He then told me to squat. I did not, so he kicked me extremely hard. I called out for help, but another guard named Qiu Wenren came to help him torture me. They tied me up and continued to kick me. A while later, squadron instructor Xu Shuwei came in. He did not ask what happened or how it happened, but just joined in beating me. Once again I yelled out that guards were beating me, so the guards took me to a secluded room and continued kicking and punching me. They wouldn't stop even after their shoes were damaged due to the constant kicking. Instead, they changed their shoes and continued kicking and beating me. After they were done, they took off my already torn shirt, dragged me to the bathroom, and then they pulled my hands far over my head and cuffed them together. They waited for more than 20 hours before they let my hands down. During that time, I was given no food or water. I was also not allowed to use the bathroom. After they let my hands down, I was already exhausted, but they continued to kick and punch me.

Later, Xu Shuwei said to me in a threatening tone: "Don't expose any of this! If you do, I will kill your son, and then your entire family." Later that day, he also threatened practitioners Jiang Sen and Zhu Minjie who were in the same group as I, claiming, "If you people make me lose my job, I will kill you and your families."
