"I Know Falun Gong Is Good, But I Have to Follow Orders" Is An Unacceptable Excuse for Persecuting Falun Gong

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a Chinese Falun Gong practitioner living outside of China. Whenever I read articles on the issue of other Falun Gong practitioners persistently revealing the truth under such severe persecution in China, I feel that they are truly magnificent. I always read these type of articles very carefully. Through reading these articles I have come to find that it is very common for those people who are involved in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners to use the following excuse: "I know you are good, but I have no choice. I have to follow orders."

The responses from our fellow practitioners to this attitude can normally be placed into two categories. The results that arise from these two responses are completely different.

One response is that the practitioner stops trying to clarify the truth to this person. Or the practitioner might think that he has done all in his power to explain the facts and that it is that person's sole responsibility if he chooses to be involved in the persecution of Falun Gong. Normally the practitioners who responded in this way were sent to detention centers or forced labor camps where they were subject to even harsher treatment.

Another response is that the practitioner paid no attention to the persecution and kept revealing the true facts to the persecutor: "If you know that Falun Gong is good then you should stop committing such bad deeds. When the time comes to investigate the person who is responsible for such acts, the one who gave you the order won't take the responsibility." Then the practitioner gave the example of what happened to those who directly participated in the Cultural Revolution, the trials filed outside of China against those persons responsible in the persecution of Falun Gong and the preordained stories about fate that have occurred throughout history. The practitioner still added that it is the law of the universe that one good turn deserves another. Today if you persecute Falun Gong and its practitioners, you will receive punishment in the future. Normally these practitioners would be able to make a difference to this persons view and is thus able to leave the brainwashing center, the detention center or be released in few days.

Why are the results so different? Dafa includes both compassion and dignity. We are cultivating compassion, but we are not timid, nor do we meekly accept the persecution. The responses resulted from the first category gives the feeling that there are no other alternatives. The practitioner's response from the second category are very righteous, so the evil elements that are involved in the persecution towards practitioners had no chance to survive.
