Clarifying the Truth with Our Hearts
By Xinming ¨C Falun Dafa Practitioner in China (Clearwisdom.net) I came across an article by a practitioner over the
Internet, which described what she saw with her Celestial Eye at her level of
cultivation. She saw Teacher carving off his own flesh to pay back the debts
that Falun Dafa practitioners owed. I couldn't help thinking, why it is still
like this, even when Fa-rectification has progressed to this point. It has to be
that we haven't done well in some aspects, primarily in the area of clarifying
the truth. What Teacher pays on our behalf is the debt we have accumulated throughout
our lives. Teacher could have resolved all these karmic relationships favorably
by paying off what we owe with the accomplishment of our cultivation. The
creditors will join the practitioner as sentient beings in the world that he or
she has cultivated, thus escaping the fate of being destroyed as the old
universe disintegrates. However, because we haven't done a good enough job
clarifying the truth to these creditors, they don't have confidence in our
future and demand that we pay them back right away. When we tell the public
facts about the persecution of Falun Gong, all sentient beings at various levels
of the universe are listening, including our creditors. We simply can't see them
with human eyes. To clarify the truth is to eliminate the evil at the most
fundamental level. It can't be carried out simply as a formality, but has to be
accomplished with the goal of rectifying people's thoughts instead. When we state the facts with righteous thoughts in mind, we can awaken the
listener. If we put all our hearts in our speech, the other party will be moved.
The deeper we understand the Fa, the finer the granularity of the energy we emit
and the greater the power when it reaches other people's hearts. In order to
improve our efforts in this regard, we have to carry out all the three things
Teacher has asked us to do, study the Fa, send righteous thoughts and clarify
the truth. None can be overlooked. In order to better present the facts to the public, we may borrow from what
has turned out to be effective for other practitioners. We can do so by reading
as many articles as we can on Clearwisdom.net to keep up with the pace of Fa-rectification.
At the same time, let us improve the way we select and present the contents. While communicating to the listener, we should follow the topic he or she has
brought up. For someone who has lost his or her job, we may share the reason why
so many people in China are out of a job because they exposed Jiang, his sons
and corrupt officials who have taken possession of state-owned assets. When
talking to elderly people, we can discuss Falun Gong's effectiveness in
improving health and keeping fit by giving examples of the positive changes in
one's physical condition. To those who stay abreast of news events, we can tell
them how the "Tiananmen self-immolation incident" was staged. By
judging from the listener's understanding of Falun Dafa, we can have our choice
of topics and words. The goal of truth-clarifying is to convince others by presenting facts. So we
have to hold righteous thoughts in mind and remain calm by avoiding the desire
to explain everything in one conversation. We also need to remain objective,
reasonable, and present only the facts through sound reasoning. It is easier to reach consensus if we go talk to those who have some common
ground with us. For example, when an elderly woman practitioner was asking
directions from another lady about the same age, she came to know that the lady
suffered from diabetes. She then told her that her next door neighbor also had
illnesses, but they all went away after she started practicing Qigong. The
elderly lady asked, "Which Qigong is so effective?" Falun Gong was
naturally brought up. The practitioner then explained that all the propaganda
programs on TV are fabricated lies. In the end, the conversation turned out to
be very fruitful. To clarify the truth with our hearts is part of our
cultivation, and is also a necessary part of transforming our bodies as well as
establishing our mighty virtue. Some practitioners may hesitate and wonder if they are good at communicating
with others. But no baby has been born knowing how to walk. As long as we apply
ourselves, we will be able to communicate effectively. January 7, 2003 |
